Waited in front of the line for 30 minutes with no movement. Many people left and security was in and out many times with no attention to the line up. Too preoccupied talking with friends. Just save your night and go elsewhere.

Came here for a quick bite, service was prompt, food portion was big, music was great, and the cabin-themed décor was lovely. They offer hot alcoholic drinks here, I tried a Hot Burt Reynolds(spiced rum and butterscotch liqueur), YUM~! Food and drinks are a bit pricy for this pub.

I hope I can one day change this review. Waited in line for an HOUR Friday night and the line never moved. We saw them let in 4 people. They said they were at capacity all night even though lots of people left. The bouncers were rude and simply ignored you if you tried to ask them a question. Next time we will come super early I guess.

Most of the staff seem great but for a bar that tries to be a local neighbourhood favourite they still do some of the shady club stuff. This includes forcing people to wait in the cold so it looks like there’s a line, raising cover when it starts to get busy, kicking people out shortly after they pay cover so they can keep the money and get more people in to pay — the list goes on. I would chock this all up to bad management.

Tried to get into Clinton’s to meet up with old friends and was met at the door with a doorman who insisted I get a stamp to enter. When I explained to him I am allergic to the dye and can’t risk breaking out, he again insisted I needed a stamp to get in. I offered to let him stamp a piece of paper I had in my bag as an alternative but again he refused. I found him very rude and unwilling to listen to my scenario and come to any compromise. I realize my allergy is unique, but being discriminated from the bar for not being able to be stamped and miss an evening catching up with friends is extremely upsetting.

My review is only for the dance party in the back. Went on 50s/60s night by myself. It was fun, but I will dance by myself. After paying a $ 10 cover I deserve that. First, anyone that complains about how it’s hot and sweaty back there doesn’t want to be in a room dancing with people in Toronto in the middle of the summer. Their comments should be given no weight by Unilocal. They probably complained to the bartender about how their IPA was hoppy. Although skeptical at first, the music was a lot of fun and so was the crowd. Twist, Shout(think wedding crashers montage), conga line, brown eyed girl, abc(Jackson 5, I’m questioning the authenticity but fun music) and so on. Packs of cute girls too, which is obviously huge. Goofy guys having fun. A make out here and there. Not an overly drunk seen. Babe DJ too. There is a long line out front, so show up before midnight if you want to avoid it. Would definitely go back. Staff was decent enough — what I would expect given their crowd.

I came for my bachelorette party so was really looking forward to a great night of dancing to 90’s music. Service was disappointing. The bartenders came off as rude and self-entitled. While we were in the seated area, we had asked if it was okay to just order from the bar but«our waitress» passive aggressively told us she’d prefer that we order from her. During last call, I had waved to the bartender ONCE and she had made it a point to rudely tell me that I should never wave to a bartender because I’ll get served last. Yikes. You just wasted the tip I was going to give you by spouting off your BS ones. Also they were mostly playing late-90’s music while I was hoping for some early 90’s hits as well! I will say that the actual crowd in the bar was okay and one bouncer, I wish I had gotten his name, was so good-natured while the rest of the staff were being douchebags that he calmed a lot of the pissed off nerves that were flying off of me. Lesson learned, Clinton’s. Won’t be coming back here for a night of fun!

Great food with TONS of vegetarian options. Their menu has a great mix of delicious bar food and healthy options. The staff is really friendly & the service is pretty quick. The best– their Monday night Drinking & Thinking Trivia Night!!!

What an apalling display of customer courtesy, professionalism and disrespect. I have NEVER encountered such poor, careless and rude service anywhere in my life. I am the maid of honour of the bridal party and the bride to be requested we plan a stagette night here for what sounded like an amazing 90 ’ s throwback party. Seeing as many of us were 90s kids we were pumped. I contacted their events manager 2MONTHS in advance to make inquiries about booking space or tables for such an event. I even specified it was for a bachelorette party bc the bride really wanted to live it up for their 90s party. I was told they usually don’t reserve space, have guest list or anything like that but after more inquiries and emails, was informed that they would in fact accommodate our group. I tried to reconfirm with them the week before and didn’t hear anything back until I tried to contact them again the week of, and was informed that yes everything was a go. Cool right? Wrong. We arrive there and when our group of 10 and growing approach the«security» to ask about our reservation he tells me he has no idea what I’m talking about, that he never got any word of it and they don’t do anything like that. Fair enough, so I explained that I’ve been communicating with their events manager for 2 months and was told that they would accomodate us somehow, he repeats he heard nothing about it, shrugs his shoulders, snickers with some sarcastic girl who is obviously using him just for smokes, but whatever he thinks it might lead to more. So I do what I never wanted to do and ask him if there is a manager i can talk to clarify this and he tells me «Well I am security, so I am pretty much who you have to talk to.» So I reluctantly pull out my phone and show him my emails to and from the events manager so he doesn’t think I’m trying to bs my way into this shitty venue. He tells me «let me see what I can do.» Meanwhile, their patio is empty save for 3 tables of 1 or 2 ppl and no evidence of some massive crowd spilling out onto the sidewalk. There are a handful of ppl they keep waiting in line to give illusion that the place is busy meanwhile they are dead inside. They come back and inform us there is a table in the bar portion of the venue — closed off and separate from the«dance/club-ish» area(but no they are not anything like that apparently). Where we sit and try to make do of a crappy start to the bride to be send off. A few ppl in our group go to the bar for drinks — they are informed that because we are sitting at a table we cannot be served by the bar and need to wait for our server and order only from her. A few late comers join us a few hours later and when asked for their drink orders, are also told very rudely that she prefer they order from her and not the bar. The icing on top of the cake, after trooping it out for the bride to be ’ s sake at this sad dump, waiting in an unecessary line and paying unecessary cover… at the end of the night when ordering the bride her last drink… we politely waved at the bartender to let her know we were at the bar to order and not just standing near it or whatever… it’s not like we snapped our fingers or pounder the counter or waved our arms like we were flagging down a plane… we just waved our fingers like a little hello… and instead… we’re kept waiting for another 15 min longer than seemed necessary and then she rudely informs THEBRIDETOBE to never wave at a bartender or else we would be served last! For a bartender serving a pretty tiny(no more than 50 easily) and non boisterous crowd… she had alot of attitude for no reason and gall to insult a nice girl on her stagette night… I don’t get it and was sorely insulted. Obviously will never go again… but if you like power tripping bouncers, unecessary lines, rude and entitled staff then this is your place. Oh and the 90s party… was more like 2000s… on an ipod… that didn’t know the likes of classic hiphop or rnb tunes… not sure what 90s they lived in. There are way better places that will play similar music and better like The Supermarkt. Don’t waste your time. I am disgusted by how we were treated… most especially the celebrant herself. #clintons #toronto #bars #clubs #customercourtesy #fail #theannex

Cinton’s a lot of fun, a great unpretentious spot to dance and have a great time. I love the rotating theme nights and highly recommend checking out CHOIR, CHOIR, CHOIR on Tuesdays or Wednesdays. On weekends note that it is packed so come early or like lines. My feelings on the upstairs are less enthusiastic; its a bar but not otherwise particularly remarkable.

Cheap cover — even cheaper with Student ID. Went early so no line. PBRs were so cheap. Music was the best — Beatles, Chuck Berry, Ray Charles, etc. We had so much fun dancing and it seemed like everyone else did too — chill, young, fun, crowd. Space is small but not crowded. WILLDEFRETURN.

Very fun bar. Went here for a friends birthday and it was great! Fun 90s themed night on Thursdays with old classic hits playing w old movies playing on a flat screen. Drink deals and sits are actually affordable which is a nice surprise and they have a fairly good selection of beers on tap. Quite small so it gets«cozy» fast. But all in all it’s a great club in the sense people actually go to do the fun kind of dancing and not the sleezy kind you are bound to see at some of the clubs where is freshly turned 19 year olds and the music is actually in to dance to and not constant fun step which I appreciate.

I love taxidermy. There: I said it. If there is a head of an animal hanging on a wall anywhere, I want to be drinking in that room. The bar here is a great mix of ages and personalities which I find exciting because there is nothing worse than a room of homogenous hipsters. People seemed to be enjoying the food, but being the food snob that I am, I will always eat elsewhere because wings and nachos are not my speed. But vodka? Oh yes, Jenny likes it! And cheap vodka and good tunes after some Korean food? YES! I’ve seen some great bands in the back and been to a few dance parties that were a little young for me, but this old lady likes to get down, so get outta my way and don’t whine that it’s your birthday and you got pushed when you tried to waltz in and grab a drink in line ahead of me. I’ve had more birthdays than you, Princess. Wait your turn. But no matter– this all adds to the ambiance. Great music always playing in the front bar and I’ve even started a few impromptu dance parties by the front door. When a good song comes on the whole bar will start grooving. Even people at their tables are chair dancing! I love when people sing together and dance together. Honestly, I could cry, because there are so few things that we join each other in these days. It’s just amazing to sharing good vibes– I love that shit. Clinton’s is a proper bar, a great bar and a fun bar.

Went here yesterday after a long day of spa-ing and shopping. We got the Clinton platter which has a little bit of everything… chicken wings/fries/veggies…you get the idea. It was a huge platter for about $ 28. Not bad. We sat outside so I can’t comment on what the inside looks like. Service was nice and pretty fast. Overall a good place. but not great. Apparently on the weekends they have old school music nights so maybe that’s pretty fun — will go back to check it out to see

This was my first time here and I enjoyed my lunch here on the patio. The food and service was very good. They had a great beer and drink menu and I enjoyed my blue cheese burger which came with a side of fries and a side salad which was plenty of food. There was an obnoxious drunk who was swearing and making racist remarks really loudly. Because it was Canada Day I assumed this was the only place this old bum could get his liquor on as the beer stores were closed. It made the other customers uneasy, but my waitress, Lyndsay, took control and handled the situation extremely well and managed to get the bum to leave quickly while still managing to attend to her customers. I will definitely be back.

If you are ever have only been here before on weekends for the dancing. But recently visited on a Sunday afternoon. The beer was great, and although there is not a huge menu for food. I can vouch that the burgers, nachos and wings are all amazing! Seems like the food they do have, they do right. Very relaxed atmosphere and the wait staff are super friendly and easy going. The beer selection was great. Being a wheat beer lover. The fact that they carry Erdinger was a plus.

Because of Clinton’s, I had to eat my hat with a «You were right, I was wrong» apology. I thought it looked dingy and gross from the outside, and I was sure it didn’t have good beer. Well, I walked in and discovered Erdinger Dunkel on tap and immediately felt remorse for my snap judgment. Seriously, the BEER list ranges from moderately high-brow, like the delicious aforementioned brew, to seriously low-brow, like Bud. Prices are the standard, they do pitchers for a reasonable price. COCKTAILS are your standard well-types, nothing fancy here and higher prices. The WINE option is swill. Stick to BEER ;) We didn’t get to try the FOOD, but it looked pretty much like standard pub fare. It also smelled really good. The nachos plate our neighbors ordered was enormous. I seriously considered a distraction play to steal a few chips of that gooey goodness. The music is all retro and pretty cool. I actually appreciated that in the bar area they kept the music at a nice level where I could both hear it and still converse with my neighbors. They have a club space in the back with a $ 5 cover for 80’s and 90’s music. I was rather impressed to see a pretty solid line-up outside. It looks like this could be a nice casual place for a laid-back night of dancing. And the real bonus… you’re next to the best Korean I’ve had in Toronto, Buk Chang Dong Soon Tofu(no, I did not make that name up in an ethnically offensive way). Get Korean before you come here for the beers… or after you’re hammered there’s a lot of late night Korean joints open within a block or two. Maybe you might even have Korean food before and after!

Found this place after my ball hockey game in the area, I’ve been to many of the Korean restaurants in the area but never noticed this bar. Not expecting too much it was actually not too bad, there was enough seating for our whole team of 10 and food was pretty cheap compared to places like BQM, $ 10 for burger, fries and salad! BQM is at least $ 9 for a single burger. Food wasn’t mind blowing, burger was kinda dry but I’ll take it for the price. They also had Sapporo on tap which is a big plus!

I come here regularly, but just for Shake, Rattle and Roll on Saturday nights(formerly Shake a Tail, but that event moved to Sneaky Dee’s last fall). What to expect: — Long lines if you arrive after midnight(there are 2 lines! One to get in the bar, and another to get into the back room where the dancing is). — A lot of plaid and facial hair — A lack of multicultural representation — $ 5 cover — Cash only bar — No need for coat check… just pile your stuff on one of the sofas near the DJ. I have never lost anything. — Beer will be spilled on your leg at some point… — It will get super HOT and sticky!(the side patio is helpful as is strategically standing near fans). — BUT the DJ’s Bangs & Blush will win you over with classic Motown hits(think«Heard it through the grapevine», «Ain’t no mountain high enough», «Signed, sealed, delivered», etc.). AND if you request a song, they will actually play it for you pretty promptly! It’s always fun times here and it’s perfect when you just want to go dancing without dressing up, dealing with annoying bouncers, etc.
