Very basic hotel. Just needed it to sleep and have close proximity to the ROM area. I woke up to a bedbug crawling on my bed that I killed and there was blood everywhere! I looked around and found 1 more, took it down to the manager and they compensated well. But now I have nightmares I have bedbugs now.

2 night stay. Elevator door got jammed. Ancient toilet clogged TWICE! Ice available on 1st floor only. Aside from proximity to subway stop, there’s nothing good about this hotel.

My friends and I(3 people in total) stayed for one night over the Easter long weekend. We found that the location was pretty good and the size of the room was decent of rate price that we paid. The hotel is an older one but that’s not a problem. The only thing is that I could hear other guests and the housekeepers fairly early, 7am, in the morning. The breakfast was a disappointment. Toast, some pastries and coffee, OJ and water were laid out to serve yourself.

Look, this is a budget hotel in a big city downtown. It’s not luxury, but for me it was perfectly fine for a few nights, and the location can’t be beat. Decent beds, small but clean bathrooms, nice TVs, seems secure. The only thing I didn’t like: a very strong disinfectant smell, which led me to believe they were covering up cigarette odor in this non-smoking facility. But that’s a picky point. If I wanted to pay for the Ritz, I would have stayed at the Ritz, but I was looking for something on the low end of the price scale, and this was perfectly adequate.

My co workers reserved this hotel while we were here. Didn’t have a good nights sleep at all. Overpriced, noisy at night, beds are not that comfortable, and not that nice for what they charge. Front desk takes forever to answer the phone. Construction noise during the day. Rooms look like what you get when you stay at a hotel in $ 60 – 70 range. Only good thing is the location to restaurants.

Just came back from four nights. First impression was an unhelpful and unwelcoming check in. There were four of us in a suite so two of us had to use the sofa bed, which came equipped with one pillow and one blanket. When I called down for more pillows they made it seem like a nuisance. Every day we had to call down for more toilet paper because they wouldn’t refill it and they weren’t leaving enough towels. The toilet was semi functional, when it wasn’t constantly running. One remote control for two TVs. And the kicker is they stuck us(myself, my brother, and my two senior parents) on the same floor as a young hockey team that were constantly running up and down the halls and slamming doors.

Stayed here for a business trip. It’s an older building that has been remodeled. The rate was reasonable for the services provided, but the building has a serious problem with people smoking in it. The ventilation is very poor, and so people who violate the No Smoking policy cause issues for non-smokers in other rooms. On multiple occasions I had a smoke smell overpower my room, but had no idea where it was coming from. It cleared from the main room within a few minutes, but lingered in the bathroom the rest of the night. The staff informed me strongly on sign-in that there was a no smoking policy, and so it seems they’re aware of the problem but powerless to do anything to fix it. I eventually complained about it, and they moved me to another room. This seemed fine, until the weekend. At that point, several people went out drinking, and returned at 3:30 in the morning. Which would have been fine, if they weren’t slamming doors, talking on the phone in the hallway, and otherwise being pretty loud. I had a flight that morning and needed to be up at 6:30. Not a good recipe for sleep!

Don’t let the nice looking lobby fool you: this is a low-quality hotel. The rooms smell musty and weird, the bathrooms are old and not very clean looking. The mattresses were not comfortable and everything just seems sort of run down(except the lobby). To top it all off, we found a bed-bug on our last night there(we stayed three nights). The man at the front desk was extremely nice and changed our room, but because the manager was not there they only offered us 50% off of our last night’s stay. Skip it, you can find much nicer hotels in Toronto for the same price.

Nice hotel located close to the Yorkville/Church & Wellesley border. Excellent location, the presence of a Japenese restaurant on the first floor and a stylish lobby all add points to this place. Rooms are somewhat small, not modern, and the walls are thin so you can hear people’s conversations in the next room. Management made a mistake during my stay and tried to bypass the fact that they screwed up until I notice the letter the sent me was addressed to someone else and not me(hence they used a template and didn’t bother to revise the lettter — DUMB!) As a result of their carelessness, I got a free night whenever I returned to town.
