Attitude, Attitude, Attitude. Ordered a lighting fixture from them, paid deposit and then they had me. Or so how I felt. Final payment was made and then came the freight charges, $ 800.00 from Toronto to Chicago. I offered to pick it up instead and was told I’d have to pay a crating charge, packing charge ect so that it wound up being not worth it. For reference I arranged delivery for a similar light fixture from Melbourne AU via DHL that only cost $ 920.00 Bottom line, they are not ethical, treat customers as transactions and have no interest in building a relationship or working with their clients. The fixture itself arrived ok, there was no special packaging and a finial was missing. I didn’t even bother to contact them as it only would have been a hassle. I also have the feeling that if something had been wrong, they would not have handled it well at all. Unless you absolutely have to have something from there and don’t care about money or service, look elsewhere. Once they have your money, they don’t care.

If you have a particular propensity toward saving the environment and looking good while doing it, Commute is the store for you. Commute is a furniture store which does not sell new furniture, nor does it sell antiques. In fact the high-design furniture that is sold in the store is a strange and beautiful combination of the two. Old world meets new world in the pieces designed and built by the store’s owner, but the new world is most definitely how the items are priced. If you are looking for a deal because some of the stuff is used and/or old in the pieces, my friend, it is not happening. If you want a commute that will save you some money, then take the bus.
