The fact that this place remains open boggles the mind. Fact. Seriously, who’s buying these things, I can’t figure it out? FYI, the holes are there for your dignity to seep out of.

Ah Crocs, the hallmark brand for comfort-over-style shoes. While best known for the classic Crocs clogs, the brand does actually make really cute shoes that are perfect for rainy weather, as the rubber construction won’t ruin. After receiving my Crocs wedges in the mail and falling madly in love with them, I decided to stop by this shop to scope out more of these ultra comfy shoes. Both inside and out, the store is crisp and inviting, housing jelly, mom shoes and other sensible footwear for men and children as well. The store’s inventory is quite limited, many of the styles seen online will not be found here. For a quick browse, however, the stock is sufficient. The staff are also a little awkward and do not seem to be very knowledgeable — I walked in looking for pumps(yes, Crocs does make them and they look amazing!) and the SA told me they did not carry them, sounding confused by the notion, then directed me to a selection of wedge shoes… which I was already sporting that day! Because this is the only Crocs location in the city, I will definitely be back to pick up more of these babies! Seriously, try the shoes, so comfy!

This series of reviews illustrates why Unilocal!really needs to spin off a site for baby boomers and older. To those young people below who worry more about appearance than comfort we baby-boomers have just one word: Wait! Your attitude will change in 30 years. As for the store it was fine for me — nice selection and some products on sale. The floors could use refinishing but who cares. And service was very polite and fiendly. I came to buy another pair of crocs since mine wore out from extensive use.

two words: Moth Balls That was the overwhelming stench I detected as soon as I walked in the door. I could barely breathe let alone browse for the ugly yet strangely comfortable footwear that everybody loves to wear and loathes to admit. At least those who still pretend to care about the way they look. I’m sure I’ll try again only to revise my star rating when it’s summer and they have the AC on or at least the door open, and my feet will be in desperate need of their highly ventilated footwear.

Okaaay. I got a pair of cute flats as a gift. Didn’t fit. Fine. The Crocs website says I can make a gift exchange. Fab. I called them and they told me I could save some time and money by going to a store nearby. If they didn’t have the size I needed, they could ship it in. I found this interesting since the last time I went there and needed a size, they didn’t have it, wouldn’t have any more stock, wouldn’t ship it in – even though it was available via the Canadian website. I also asked if I needed a receipt. The service rep told me no; the only thing that mattered was that the shoes be unworn. Went to the store. It went well. They exclaimed over how cute the colour was, were very nice, etc etc. They didn’t have the shoe in stock. I asked if they could ship it in. Nope. They gave me a gift card for about $ 34 after scanning the tags and told me I could just go on the website and buy them this way. I asked if I would have to pay for shipping if I was looking for an exchange, and they said yes, but you know, if I spent above a certain amount, it’d be free, and also they have sales sometimes to make up for the shipping. Helpful! If only I was looking to spend over $ 100(the needed amount) instead of exchanging a pair of shoes I already had. I went home, went on the website. The shoes were listed for $ 45CAD. I called the store. They said since I didn’t have a proof of purchase, they could not give me a gift card for that amount. So they could give me $ 34, but not $ 45. I told them all I wanted was a way to get the shoes in the proper size — not money, not store credit. Nope. Finally, I asked them to hold the shoes for me and I’d return their useless gift card. The person I was speaking to was clearly tired of this problem and said, «Yes, yes» and then hung up on me. No «goodbye», no «sorry we couldn’t help you.» Classy. The thing is, I didn’t care what they gave me as long as it was a way to get my shoes. It could have been a dollar, a gift card, or a super secret handshake. Finally, I called the service line. After waiting about a minute, an extremely nice woman helped me. First, she tried to find out where I was, admitting shipping could be pricey. I told her the story I’ve written here, and she was surprised. She took down my information, helped me get a RMA, *gave me her extension* in case I had any questions. They couldn’t cover the return shipping(which according to their website, is to Mississauga … which I could DRIVE to) but they would cover the cost of sending the new shoes. Not the ideal situation, but I’d live with it. The whole call was over in five minutes. The disconnect between Crocs and their Canadian store is ridiculous. I’m not a huge fan of most of their products, which is a personal preference, but this service was absurd.

Croc knock-offs are available around the corner in Chinatown for $ 4…that being said they’re called knock-offs for a reason & the price is a pay now or pay later thing… as for the store on Queen W. it had a pair in the window I really wanted… apparently they only come in size 13& need to be shipped in from Montréal… i settled on a black pair that aren’t as ugly as everybuddy keeps telling me,(probably in denial fuk ‘em tho) but function before form, they is comfy-ass kicks

I agree that the traditional Croc shoe is ugly. That’s why I don’t wear them. I do however love their flip-flops as I am a year round flip-flop wearer. They’re comfortable and great to wear around the house. I got tired of buying new cheap flip-flops every month from places like ON and Crocs has been the best choice for me.

Uh, what sane person on Queen West would walk into this store and take a beating to their boutique cred? Like that Facebook group states, «I Dont care How Comfortable Crocs Are, You Look Like A Dumbass.» I stepped in, more out of curiosity than anything else, and was bowled over by how many ugly shoes and colours were packed into one location. It blew my mind. But I think more than anything else, I don’t get why this store is where it is. It would seem more appropriate in the Eaton Centre or Dufferin Mall. In fact, I’ve passed by a number of times throughout the day and no one is ever inside. Big surprise.
