HIred for a landscaping job. Good in parts and head-shaking execution in others. Work required some finishing and fixes from me. Ok if you’re willing to keep close watch.

Great selection of pricey plants with the crabbiest, rudest, condescending workers. Go there when you know what you want but don’t need help.

Horrible service. I was shocked as I asked residents about East End Garden Centre on the Beaches site about firewood. It is obviously hit or miss. We ordered 3 chords a few weeks ago. The wood was dark because it had dirt all over it and damp. We have tried everything ti burn it. When I spoke to manager about it she argued that all her wood is covered and is never wet. I posted to see if somebody wanted it but I cant give this poor quality wood to anyone so I took down my post. Im paying a rubbish removal service ti take it away. Even when it dries it wont burn because its so dirty. Please be careful when you order from them. Don’t order in winter obviously.

I’ve been coming here for as long as I can remember. This is the type of hardware and garden store that has everything except exactly what you are looking for. They are a bit abrupt with attitude and service but you wont fine more knowledge and experience. I like this place and always look forward to seeing the mother sitting outside. This place has history and my respect.

I FRIGGIN love gardening. Nerdy yes, but I don’t care! Not surprisingly, garden centres are always big excitement for me; however, I do not feel this way about East End. In fact, I have boycotted shopping here despite the fact that I feel strongly about supporting local businesses. The selection of plants is okay, the prices are a little high but not outrageous, and it’s pretty conveniently located for me. I have decided to shop elsewhere because I find the staff downright rude. Anyone can have a bad day. Any place can have one sour employee, so I pass this judgement based on numerous encounters I have had at this place. And I know I am not alone; neighbours and family members have all had bad experiences too.

Good, but small, selection of Christmas trees at a local business in the east end. A fella outside helped us select a tree, then trimmed the trunk and tied it up for us. They also had a whole bunch of fresh garland and wreaths, as well as shiny baubles and fancy festive sticks to complete your seasonal decorating. The inside of the shop is decidedly bare bones and beat up, but I only needed to go in long enough to pay(credit and debit accepted). I’ll head there next winter for my tree.

Just picked up a christmas tree, lights and stand from here and the service was excellent. Everyone was friendly and the slection of trees was huge. Different types, sizes, shapes, everything. We got a nice 7 footer for $ 75(no hst if you pay cash) and it looks great in our condo.

My middle name may as well be «herbicide», because, well, I kill plants. The ones I want as well as the ones I don’t want. I don’t have a green thumb — mine is BLACK. Plants have died in my presence just in anticipation of the haphazard & uneducated watering schedule that was soon to come. They must have thought«let’s just bite the bullet and get this over with instead of suffering through weeks with this amateur.» My solution is to stock up on Jade plants. You could not kill those fuckers if you try. I’ve skipped town for weeks at a time with no watering provisions and came back to thriving Jade plants. They have them in droves, and the only reason this place doesn’t get five stars is because it’s kinda spendy. East End Garden is a huge nursery with all sorts of year-round plants available — it spans two houses across and sprawls all over the sidewalk. The people who work there are nice enough, if a little«Deliverance”-esque, and you should know that there are two resident cats that hang out near the cash(it’s a wonder they don’t chew on the plants — they actually show no interest in them at all), so if you’re allergic to felines, stay away.
