FANTASTIC pub/restaurant. We hosted a work event with 25+ people. The restaurant did a great job accommodating our large group. The service, food & atmosphere was OUTSTANDING! Later that evening we returned to Firkin on Bloor for a beverage at the bar. Daniella & Leah were our servers/bartenders. They are BOTHROCKSTARS! Such a wonderful experience. A++++++++++++

Plenty of seating, both upstairs and downstairs. Definitely more spacious and larger than it looks from the outside/doors. Nice décor(the new British punk theme that many of the Firkin locations seem to be going for). Definitely a cleaner, newer look compared to other Firkin locations. Same great pub food(though I’ve decided that all the poutines they offer are far too salty).

HOMOPHOBICBARANDSTEALERS! DISGUSTING!!! I started my drinking upstairs with David. I did pay for two beers. As they close the upstairs bar, David asked me to go downstairs. Before he left, David came to me saying that he did let know the staff that they owns me a beer. When I finished, Ms Derek served me that beer that they owns me and she asked me to pay it again. I told her that this one was paid with David, she raised her voice saying no it’s not paid! I ask her to call the manager, the first time she refused. after I insisted, she called the assistant manager This assistant manager called David by the phone and has a confirmation from him that my beer was paid! I told him why this story?! He’s saying that he don’t want to know! And he said he’s going to tell the staff do not serve me anymore in the future! And he’s saying that’s the door in front of you, you have to leave and do not come back here anymore!!! And quickly I had an employee behind me!!! He did the mistake, I was waiting from him the professional manners and apologizes!!! but he wants to put that money in his pocket!!!

I dont usually expect much from chain restaurants, but in the case of Firkin, I usually find them to be pretty good. This one however, is far below the usual standard. My chicken tenders were so dry that they sucked up the plum sauce within a second — the fries tasted of nothing, and were also dry. Presentation left everything to be desired, and my friend’s ‘suicide wings’ were just heat, no depth of taste and came with two strips of carrot and one celery. Service was OK, but very slow, despite the place emptying around the time the last GO train left — which is probably how it’s going to be — I doubt any locals will be making this their regular. Shame, cos the décor is pretty fun(as a Brit I find the theme hilarious) and it’s really near to my flat.

Eh, this place is decent. I’m not really a fan of their food and I find their prices a little too much. I appreciate the theme they’re going for(the«silly walk» plastered next to the building makes me giggle every time I used to walk past it but there is really nothing about Firkin and Bloor that makes me ever want to go back there.

This is my go-to restaurant when I’m staying in this part of Toronto. Very convenient location close to multiple TTC subway lines, and right across the street from the Marriott. I guess you might describe this place as a modern take on a British pub. The ceiling are high, there is a sharp chrome inspired color palate, and there are references to the London Underground logo throughout. In fact, the restaurant’s logo itself is inside the Tube design. Food-wise, it’s pretty standard for a Firkin pub. Not just in terms of the items on the menu, but the exact presentation as well. I have to wonder how much if it is made to order in the restaurants kitchen vs prepared at s central Firkin kitchen and sent out frozen. The Indian dishes are pretty good, but do yourself(and your waist line) a favor and sub rice for the mashed potatoes the Indian chicken dish is served over. One of the nice things about s British pub is how they use British sized pit glasses. The Hoptical Illusion IPA was on special a few times I’ve been here and is a real bargain. I’ve only ever been to one other Firkin pub, the one on Yonge, but out of the two, I would have to say this one is my favorite.

Nice ambience but below average and overpriced food. I had the small loaded nachos with pulled pork which came to $ 17(tax included). The salsa, sour cream and guacamole were added right onto one side of the nacho plate(not in little cups) which meant they were right on top of only a few chips. I tried to spread them around and it made things really messy. Between that and the fact that everything tasted pretty bland, I eventually just gave up with only a bout half of it finished. Maybe other stuff they have is better. My friend got the burger and didn’t have any specific complaints. But I don’t think it’s worth the trip back, at least not for me.

I find it pretty gross when the cooks are standing on the sidewalk in front of the business smoking. It stinks, sticks to the uniform(especially in the cold), plus a light washing with soap ain’t gettin’ the job done. Looks negative on the establishment/restaurant. You can disagree, I don’t care it’s my review. :)

I came here for some drinks with the Hubster and a friend. We came for the location(super close to their workplaces) and stayed for the $ 5/glass wine special on Friday. We basically shut the place down. Service was friendly and came quickly enough. The ambiance is pretty neat, just like all the Firkins post-redesign. The Hubster and I ordered wings. Pro tip for wing fans: ALWAYS get sauce on the side. My wings were crispy on the outside, hot and juicy on the inside. His were soggy because he got sauce on them. Amateur. I ordered the ghost pepper suicide sauce, which was indeed very hot and delicious. I also got fries, which were good. The place was super busy at 6:30pm, but thinned out around 9 as the young professionals went home to their children or off to a different bar. So not the greatest place to people watch on a late Friday. We’ll likely return, the place was just so pleasant!

I went in for their $ 5.00 nachos. I waited a really long time. It wasn’t busy. Finally I order the $ 5.00 nachos and was asked if I wanted a pint. I declined and was then told that the $ 5.00 nachos are only available if I buy a beverage, alcohol, soft drink or water. I had my own bottle of water don’t drink pop and didn’t feel like alcohol. I don’t like to be upsold. Why doesn’t the outside board say $ 5.00 nachos with purchase of beverage? Could save everyone a lot of time and awkwardness. Oh and If I had gotten those nachos and they were decent I’d probably go back for a pint some other time. The interior was nice but I will still go to my usual spots not this place.

Great addition to the neighborhood! Filled with light this beats out all the other nearby watering holes. Enjoy their quick service, rooftop patio and cold beers. Food is pretty decent and can definitely recommend their huge Cobb salad and chicken curry. Would probably pass on the butter chicken with mashed potatoes(?)

So I was literally in there a second ago. I walked in got greeted nicely. All I wanted was a pint of beer and some food. So I go in sit at the bar, and pull my phone out waiting for the bartender. There is one other man sitting at the bar and another one sits down a few seat away from me. The new guy gets served first, she punches in his order, pours five more beers for other tables. I’m still waiting, it’s been about 7 minutes. It’s not even busy there is about 3 tables on the main floor that are occupied. I wait a couple more minutes, and I still don’t have a drink or even a greeting from the bartender. I see her arranging plates and napkins and still no recognition that I’m sitting there. So I got up and walked away, I told the hostess who greeted me sweetly that, «she just not serving me» Very disappointing first visit to this location. I visit the firkin pubs more than regularly, but that was hands down the crappiest service I’ve ever received in any pub. I feel bad for them because pride starts today and if that bartender is working this weekend… well, she is going to crash and burn.

Definitely a nice addition to the Bloor/Yonge corridor. Even the exterior was very stylish and modern. The interior was adorned with a mish mash of British paraphernalia, but I have to admit it was absolutely the nicest Firkin pub I’ve been to. This location has been opened since May, so I would expect their customer service to be free of all kinks. I came 20 minutes before noon to beat the lunch rush and thought I did well since there were only a few people in front of me who were part of a group, so it won’t take me long to be seated which I thought. The hostess greeted me warmly and informed me someone would seat me shortly. The group in front of me had also requested seating on the patio, I would think it would be easy for the other hostess to bring the group and me upstairs at the same time, but she told me to wait and she’ll be right back. What I don’t understand was the fact there were two other staff members who were at the hostess area chatting with the main hostess, could one of them not seat me? The main hostess just apologized for the wait and resumed talking with the other staff. I felt sorry for the person who had to go up and down the stairs to seat people when clearly she could have easily sat all of us at the same time. And why couldn’t one of the other two staff members seat me? Can the main hostess not leave her post at all? I cannot even imagine if there were a line-up, to seat one table at a time and going up and down the stairs. Since I was early, I didn’t mind the wait, but just thought it was ridiculous that the other staff members couldn’t go beyond their job duties when clearly it wasn’t busy yet. The second floor was quite spacious and had a couple tables occupied with a good size bar like the first floor. The patio was just a little up off the second floor landing and it was a decent size patio with a few tables already occupied. The fact that I arrived early, there clearly were many tables available, so I asked to be seated at the corner table instead of next to a table that was occupied which I was being seated that was just a few tables away from corner table. The hostess looked perplexed since she was supposed to bring me to the assigned table as per the seating chart, so I asked again if I can be seated at the corner table which clearly was a table of 4 like the one she was going to seat me at, except located at the corner. The place wasn’t busy yet, plus they don’t take reservations, so I don’t see what the issue was. She reluctantly seated me at the corner table and said the server would be with me shortly. The server was friendly and informed me of the specials for the day. Thursday was $ 5 Guiness and $ 4 taco(choice of chicken, chorizo and fish). I decided on a cocktail from the drinks menu. My friends were 10 minutes late and my drink had yet to arrived, but thankfully the server brought me a glass of water while I waited. My drink ended up arriving with my friends’ drinks(nearly 15 minutes after the initial order). The patio was just starting to get busy at that time with two large groups of 6 — 8 people and a few smaller tables, so I’m not sure why my drink took that long as it wasn’t a fancy or complicated drink. My friends ordered the taco specials and said it was good. $ 4 per tacos seemed like a great deal since the regular menu was 2 tacos for $ 11. I went for the regular pub fare of Shepherd’s Pie($ 13) which was served in an individual dish. It was definitely better than I expected as the beef was flavourful, mashed potatoes were fluffy and it was actually quite good. Also, the vegetables were cooked al dente and seasoned lightly with salt and pepper. Portion size was good and price was reasonable for what I received. I’ll probably give this place another try since it looked like the menu has been revamped or perhaps the food quality has changed over the years. It was not the mediocre pub fare that is usually associated with Firkin pubs.

Some coworkers and I came here after a long work week. While the place wasn’t packed, it had your typical lively loud(but joyous) atmosphere. Plenty of tv’s, comfy leather booths/seats and some high top tables, hardwood floors and nice and clean décor. They have daily drink specials and Friday just happened to be $ 5 Rockyards wine. Meh, the wine was okay. However, they have like 6 or 7 summer cocktails and I think between 3 of us, we ordered all but one. The watermelon and blueberry ones were the best and from what i was told, the Bourbon one was the worst. My coworker didn’t like it and they gladly exchanged it. Great service! We also ordered some food and I got the curry beef with rice and someone else ordered sweet potato fries. The curry was more sweet and creamy, but not spicy and it smelled great. It tasted okay. Would try something different next time. As for the fries, hot, fresh and crispy. Better than the fries from the other pubs in the area. Verdict: if the service, drinks and atmosphere stay in tact, this is where we are going to do all our celebratory after work drinks.

This place was quite a surprise to me. Once inside, you can see a very spacious venue, well lit with skylight on a nice day. It has 2 floors plus a rooftop patio. It’d be perfect for a place for a corporate event up to 400ish people. The portion of the food was bigger than expected as well. For a pub, the food is pretty well made too. The fish taco I order only has two pieces, but the size was pretty big. A small caesar salad is almost like a large wendy’s salad. Definitely a place I’d come back to.

I will start off by saying that I have been to other locations and have had no problem with the food, but this time we got the nachos like every other time and was very dissatisfied. They were extremely dry and hard and tasted a bit on the stale side. There was also hardly any cheese which was a must for the stale nachos. So we had to send it back to ask for more cheese. On the other hand we also ordered calamari with the chipotle mayo sauce and it was delicious. Service was prompt and our waitress was nice. The only complaint we had was that we asked to move inside from the patio because it was cold and they did with no problem, but then put us to sit indoor under a huge fan which felt colder than outside. We wanted to ask to move again but did not want to be a hassle. To sum up, I would visit the Firkin again but not this location.

A pub with London theme and interior. The service is good. Not sure if its because its new(as they’ve just opened in May), but its a strategic location right opposite Bloor subway station. Food and drinks are greatly priced considering it around Yonge and Bloor area. The open rooftop is a nice place to sit when its a nice sunny or a day filled with cool breeze. Weekdays are no as packed, weekends tend to be busy just like any other pubs.

Five stars for a pub. Décor is British inspired and colorful. Such a fun place to meet for drinks with friends. I had their house red for $ 5, which was delicious! Medium bodied with fruity notes, a must try at that price point. Next time I’ll try the food.

What a great addition to the neighbourhood! Yonge & Bloor is(surprisingly) a bit of a wasteland in terms of decent pubs/restaurants that won’t break the bank. I have been waiting patiently for this Firkin pub to open and made sure to be there for opening night. The new«Firkin On Bloor» is exactly the same as any other Firkin pub you have ever been to — over-the-top faux British décor, paintings and art covering most of the available wall space and friendly servers dressed in their familiar grey uniform. This location is bright and airy, with a large ground floor bar area complete with lounge, an upstairs bar and(I think) a patio on the second floor facing Bloor Street. It was closed today as the weather wasn’t so great, but I can’t wait to have a beer in the sun there very soon. Our servers were friendly and fast, and made a point in checking in multiple times during our visit. Although the menu is the same as every other Firkin pub around, it was extra tasty tonight. I really like how there are daily food and drink specials so you can grab a quick drink and a bite to eat, without breaking the bank. I get the feeling this will be our new local pub and can’t wait to come back again soon!

Awesome to finally have a cool bar in my area I actually want to go to. They just opened up today. The interior is gorgeous. The menu is standard Firkin menu. We had the wings and a few $ 5 steam whistles. Standard above average pub fair at a solid price. For it being their first full night open I was extremely impressed. It was fairly busy when we were there and everybody there seemed to be handling everything perfectly, didn’t miss a beat with our table at least. The manager Catherine came over, introduced herself and we talked briefly about the opening and how things have been going. A HUGE plus in my books is a non solicited check in from a manager that is both friendly, helpful and open to hearing anything we may have had to say. Our server Hayley F was fantastic, attentive, friendly, cute and told us some cool stuff about the opening etc. Will definitely be spending lots of time here in the summer to come and I highly recommend checking it out.
