It was a three star food stall until one of my very last bites. Freedom Noodle House specializes in what in Cantonese is called cart noodles. These are soup noodles topped with a variety of customizable toppings ranging from brisket to pigs feet, from dumplings to zhajiang. They have three noodle options: egg noodle, rice noodle, and instant noodle. Noodles range from $ 5.00 to about $ 7.00. They also have other options that are written in Chinese only. Had: Beef brisket and pig feet egg noodle — $ 6.50 after tax. This was a fairly standard bowl of noodles. Nothing really stood out. The brisket was not dry, but it wasn’t mindblowing. The pig feet were chewy, and they didn’t have meat on them, but they were as pig feet should be. Chewy, but in a good way. Portion-wise, it was alright. It could have been considerably larger though. I had that and a third of my grandfather’s noodles(from a different stall here), and then I was relatively full. Why this went from three to two stars is because one of my final bites of pigs feet was highly unpleasant. If one doesn’t clean pigs feet properly, stray bristly hairs remain. Yeah. Stray bristly hairs on my tongue aren’t the way I want to start or end my meal. In fact, if I don’t have to experience them, I’d really rather not. It turned my okay experience into a fairly unpleasant one. Will I come again? Most likely not.

Freedom Noodle House is located inside food court area. Good Portion as my Gold Combination A($ 6.50) has 2 big wontons, 2 Shrimp dumplings and quite a few beef brisket which includes a soy milk drink. And for $ 1 extra a plate of vegetables on the side. All the dumplings and wontons has quite a lot of shrimp as filling. Not as big and bouncy as the one at Jim Chai Kee but quite good for the pricing! I do like the fact they have a lot of toppings to choose from! Freedom to choose any combination! Freedom Noodle House is a pretty good choice if you want noodle at a reasonable price. For $ 5 you can get any one of the 10 toppings with a drink. Great for a quick lunch. By the way, Freedom Noodle House is opened by the same owner of Yau Kee that used to located at the plaza at T&T Middlefield.
