There are not so many children in this shop. I find there are always more adults in the shop. I tried gelato in different shops, but Gelato Simply Italian is my favourite. The taste is for more adults. They are not too sweet and they taste more fruits or nuts. I want to try coffee there in winter.

This shop has excellent flavours and we go here often after Sushi from around the corner, but recently their portions got much smaller and their prices went up, I feel like they are making up for their restaurant closing across the street. When you compare them to Hollywood Gelato around the corner it is night and day for the size of the portion. All in all a good selection of flavours and very creative, I will try their sandwiches in the future.

Rough! I should have listened to the reviews before coming here. A co-worker wanted to try it so I said why not. The gelato flavours were flat and the service was just horrendous. She was very rude and nonchalant to the previous two female patrons and I thought maybe she was having a bad customer day but nope she was just unpleasant! She had this«why are you here» attitude. It’s been awhile since I wrote a bad review; read below for why you want to AVOID! Food: 2/5, I’ve had better; I got the chocolate and mojito flavours and they were just too runny as it didn’t seem like it was frozen enough and tasted watery. Service: 1/5, blah as you can read above and their reason for many flavours you can’t try because«it’s expensive to make»!!! Ambience: 2/5, who cares?! Everything else was so bad I didn’t even have a chance to look at it. Price: 1/5, ridiculous! It costs $ 1 if you try and don’t buy and you can only try 2 flavours among the ones that do not have a sticker. Also, they charge $ 1 for credit card purchases if you don’t spend at least $ 10. It’s $ 5 for a small itty bitty cup that’s not even full.

I don’t know what all the negativity is here. Sure, the owner might correct the pronunciation of the gelato names, but don’t see it as a negative thing. He’s just helping you out and being very Italian, which is what I love about this place. I’ve been coming here for the past 3 years with friends and I can say this is my go-to gelato place. The chocolate is great.

Sat down for one second and opened my computer while I was waiting for friend to arrive, and owner immediately came over to me and shouted, «Ya gonna get something?!» Made me feel immediately uncomfortable and unwelcome.

The Gelato is good. They have a good selection. They rotate flavours. It is in the neighbourhood. Outdoor seating — great on balmy nights. Their customer service — Mama Mia! So bad!(Apologies for the bad humour). Their prices went up this summer. $ 5 for a small — a tad expensive. You can get two flavours though. But that is the matter in a nutshell. I have learnt to ignore most of their servers(Btw — There is a high turnover). The names of flavours are all in Italian. I do not mind learning Italian, I would just like to be able to ask what it means without having my head bitten off! Without the attitude, it would be charming. I understand the No-Taste or I-Will-Charge policy. Nothing in life is free. And someone once explained that some flavours are very expensive to make so they do not let you taste those. Which is fine as well, if explained nicely. The Pistachio can be bought without tasting. Really good.

The place is bright and inviting, and the girls at the front were nice and helpful, but the reason for me walking in was disappointing. I sampled a few flavors of gelato and they were all on the sweet side. I decided to go with a vanilla and shaved chocolate flavor that I can’t pronounce. Like the other ones, it was overly sweet and not very creamy. Their prices were steep for a sub par product. On the plus side their cappuccino was good.

Poor service and unknowledgeable staff. Did not know how to accept PayPal even though they advertise their acceptance within the PayPal app; unwilling to figure out how to accept it even though the checkout iPad was right there.

This place may rival Il Gelaterie in quality, but I’m never going back because of their ostentatious display of contempt for their customers… right on their uniforms. They have the audacity to not only disallow sampling(a practice universal in gelato shops,) but to display this sentiment(a metaphorical middle finger) right on their damn shirts.

It was our first time trying this place. Gelato was ok I guess, as for service — not very pleasant! I bought kiddy scoops in the waffle cones for 2 of my kids and then decided to get same size for me as I shouldn’t really be having any(health issues). Apparently they couldn’t sell me that same size for same price… They had to charge me more just because I was an adult! «It is the rule» they kept on saying… How can you justify this rule? I just wanted a small taste of the gelato. Don’t think we will be going back as there many other gelato places in the area with much better customer service!

Pretty good gelato for the area. I find the sampling policy off putting — they will charge you $ 1 if you sample and don’t end up purchasing a cup, and there are a number of flavours you cannot sample, just because. Customer service here is awful — very cold and condescending.

We just moved into the neighbourhood and went here after a nice pizza dinner. I was trying out the flavours and the owner very rudely pointed out the sampling rule that they apparently had posted on the door. That was my very first visit to the store, and I usually look forward to the food in a place than to randomly ready signs posted. I’ve had gelato from various places around canada and this is not exceptional. I liked the gelato, but the overall experience left a sour taste in my mouth.

This is my go to gelato place. It’s a little out of my way, but no where else I’ve gone to compares to this place. It’s also really close to the Eglinton subway station. The employees are really nice, being the indecisive person I am, as they answer all my questions since I can’t pronounce or read Italian. The gelato itself is really great. My favourite is the pistachio! They have a wide array of flavours that changes every now and then so you always get the opportunity to try something new, which I appreciate. I highly recommend this place. The only downfall is that the space is so small. I’d appreciate a larger space, especially in the patio out front.

Decent gelato, but not the best I’ve had in Toronto. I prefer a place on Baldwin(Kekou Gelato) or College(Dolce). $ 5 Small = two flavours $ 6.50 medium = three flavours There’s a large but I forget the price I got a small gelato in a cup and they really jammed it full, but the small really does feel small. The medium seems like it’s the small at other places. So not great value for your money, but it’s also pretty good gelato, so I’d come back if I were in the area.

The shop and gelato display is attractive but the customer service is lacking in warmth. The owner(I think) corrects a customer’s pronunciation of the a flavour in Italian almost with scorn. All the flavours are in Italian, how would you not ask what they are? If he expects his customers to know Italian then he’s in the wrong neighbourhood. $ 5 for a small scoop in either cone or cup. You get two flavours. The gelato’s good but not amazing. I won’t make it a point to come back. 2.5 stars.

I didn’t count the number of flavours they had, but there were definitely more than 20. The flavours came in a wide variety, from pistachio to Nutella. They had a gigantic mural depicting the breadth of flavours that they’ve had at the store, so I’m guessing that they rotate their flavours frequently. I visited upon a friend’s recommendation on a warm summer afternoon, and it was packed. Gelato can be purchased in small, medium, and large size cups, priced at $ 5.00, $ 6.50, and $ 7.50 respectively. As for variety, small comes with up to 2 flavours, medium comes with up to 3, and large comes with up to 4. You also have the option of getting your gelato in a cone. If it’s your first time at the store, be sure to utilize your two free samples to ensure you’re satisfied with your purchase(but let’s be honest, you’d have to be insatiable not to). Beware though, if you take a free sample without a subsequent purchase, they cost $ 1.00 each. Simple Italian has a small Yonge Street-facing patio which we were able to get a seat on. All in all, my first experience at Simply Italian was quite enjoyable, and I’ll be eager to return whenever I’m in the area. Tip: There’s a side street right beside Simply Italian where you can enjoy free parking during most normal hours. Heading southbound, make a right after you pass Simply Italian(right after Jaipur Grille) and park on the street along the bridge. Hope this saves you a couple bucks!

I’ll share a little secret with you: I don’t normally eat gelato. Nor do I know much of it, as there’s not too many of them up in Chinatown(read: Markham) where I live. But from what I have tasted in the past, I have some expectations of what good gelato is. And boy oh boy was it met(and surpassed) here! My wife got a serving of 3 different flavours. The lemon one is nice but tbh was nothing special, and reminded me of those sorbets I get at restaurants. Refreshing, sweet, but nothing to write home about. The next two flavours, though, blew my mind. We had hazelnut and pistachio, and I cannot remember the last time I had such a rich, creamy, and surprisingly complex symphony of flavours coalesce in my mouth from a frozen dessert! The hazelnut, especially, reminded me of Nutella(oddly, there were lots of displays of Nutella jars too there) and that is a BIG-ASS win right there. The place wasn’t too crowded and was pleasant. Mind you it was a Tuesday, but then again it WAS the middle of summer so that may counter the fact that it was midweek. Service was very prompt and friendly, and price-wise, can’t complain. 6 bucks for a serving seems a tad high for me, but bitchplease, you’re talking to a guy who thinks soup should be free. So my judgment on the price of something that I rarely every purchase may, just may, be a little suspect. They do have a dazzling array of flavours available, and I also saw at the back what seemed to be t-shirts. Are they selling merchandise? I sure hope so because nothing will impress a girl like a top saying«Keep Calm and Lick On». Stay frosty. Stay classy.

This place is simply amazing, and one of my favourite spots for casual mid-afternoon meetings on a hot summer day. They have a huge range of available flavours that change from day to day. Of course, there’s a handful of dependable classics that are always available. It’s unfortunate for me that my favourite flavour, mojito, seems to be a rare occurrence, but I wouldn’t hold it against them. I don’t think I could be disappointed by a single thing they have on offer.

Excellent home made ice cream Line ups are the norm Pricing is reasonable for a quality product but staff is trained to be stingy on portions You need a medium or large if you want more than one flavor I enjoyed the Fig and Pear The would have got 5 stars if staff and the owner could at least shave smiled once while we waited 20 minutes in line. Grumpy? Having the radio tuned to CHIN radio Is italian program Is a nice touch
