Very good coffee, very friendly service, brings your coffee to your table. Comfortable, inviting clean environment. I had their mocha coffee it was awesome. Their cappuccino is great too. If I was to nitpick, because it’s such a small café, it can get a bit noisy. Other than that, one of the better places on Yonge and Eglinton.

Found this place through Unilocal and knew I had to check it out! It’s a 10-minute walk from Eglinton station and although it doesn’t look like much from the outside, it’s actually quite cozy on the inside — a perfect study spot. I ordered a matcha green tea latte and a sea salt chocolate chip cookie to snack on while I did some reading. As other reviewers have mentioned, the baristas here are super nice and masters of latte art. The latte also tasted as good as it looked — smooth and creamy with a soft but deep matcha flavour. The cookie was just average but baked goods do not seem to be their focus anyway. Honestly, I would come back just for the latte art(I’m a sucker for cute things).

The baristas are friendly and create the cutest latte art! I personally requested an elephant, which they were happy to make for me.

The latte art is so cute. The baristas are very friendly and the place has good ambience for studying. The café closes at 6, wish it opens a little longer.

Coffee is decent, but maybe I’ve been conditioned to drink Starbucks now so I found their coffee a bit weak. Excellent latte art though!

Himalayan Java is located on Yonge Street almost 7 min walk from Eglinton. The entrance looks small, but Himalayan Java has a good space inside. They have a nice Himalayan music and nice pictures of Himalaya. It is a very spiritual place. There are two beautiful oriental ladies work at the counter and serve coffee. Himalayan Java has good pastries, too. The coffee is from Nepal and it is fresh taste. I really like the place. However, I did not understand why they were selling cheetos. Most tables and seats are in front of the counter, so I may not feel comfortable with working on my laptop for hours there.

Coffee that looks good and taste equally as good. :) Friendly and cozy atmosphere can chill here the whole afternoon with their cute cap. We ordered a grilled chedder cheese sandwich to share. Delicious in its simplest form. We each order a cappuccino it’s latte arts shows how much these ladies care in making their customers happy. Will definitely come back here again.

Another great café with a very warm Himalayan flair to it. The sisters are friendly and also very serious about their product. They really make a mean, savory Cappuccino with amazing latte finishes and beautiful animal of day shapes on their final crafted espresso drinks. Do try their good selection of tea and also there very well made Lasi :-) if you enjoy making your own coffee at home, definitely buy a pack of Himalayan Java at a very reasonable price and enjoy the taste, fragrance and texture of this amazing drink. The only downside is that they close pretty early, in the wee hours of the evening.

This is one of my favourite weekend hangouts to chill out with a nice cup of mocha and a good book. The staff is really nice and friendly here.

My favorite hang out place to work or catch up with a friend over some superb and cute latte art and/or a small snack! The girls are always so nice and I am always pleasantly surprised w a different latte art. Hands down my favorite place! It’s also super close to my work hehe

A small and unassuming place, you might miss it walking by but don’t keep walking! Stop in and get your fix here! There are a few tables but it’s pretty small and busy. I’m not a coffee person but was meeting someone here. I had the peppermint tea and the onion/chive scone. They were both nice and offered to heat up the scone for me. My friend had the latte and they did some art on her latte which was nice. They have a decent selection for pastries(cookies, muffins, scones) and a fair selection for coffees and teas. The service is really friendly. I will definitely head back to this place when in the area. Relaxing and unpretentious.

For all you real coffee snobs out there, this modest coffee house serves up superb coffee. Himalayan Coffee beans rival Hawaiian Kona and might possibly surpass it as the most well balanced coffee I had in a long time. The friendly baristas make their mark with their artistic foam creations in every latte, cap or café au lair. There are delicious fresh baked goods and sandwiches as well. The atmosphere is a welcome change of pace offering a tranquil place away from the usual frenetically busy coffee shops that populate this city.

I want to go here every single day. Their latté art is adorable, the coffee exquisite, and have you tried their sea salt caramel brownie? Sooo delicious and moist. The atmosphere is lovely for a catch-up with friends or for reading/writing. I highly recommend it as a pleasant break from mainstream coffee houses.

I love the coffee art in this café. The baristas are really friendly and willing to try and make any design you ask for. My matcha latte was reallly creamy and well blended, not tasting the matcha powder. Their small size portion is huge, equivalent to a large size at other cafes. Definitely coming back for more creative coffee art.

Before I begin this review, I should disclose that I am a huge sucker for coffee art and pokemon. I live in the area and had been meaning to try out Himalayan Java for a while now since I’ve been to most of the other cafes in the area already. The atmosphere is very cosy and quaint. There is only one large table in the middle of the café and then lounge chairs and smaller tables around. The price for a latte or coffee was mostly below $ 5 which is pretty reasonable for a locally owned café. This is one of those places you could spent the afternoon people watching and reading.

Staff(or owner?) talks sh#t about you as you pour milk in your coffee three feet away from them, a coffee you literally just bought from them. «I don’t want people like that in here» was muttered audibly among other comments about my appearance. Ok-my eye Mkup is smudged and hair tossed in a pony haphazardly. It’s Sunday morning. I slept in my makeup hence the need for a coffee at your establishment. Don’t run a coffee shop if you can’t deal with people. Not only will I never grace them with my presence ever again, I’ll be sure to share my «fabulous“experience with many people I know who live, work and frequent the area. Fortunately there is loads of competition for them all around. I even passed three other big name coffee houses as I prefer to support local and independent businesses. This was my first and last visit. Bad attitude. Not missing much anyway. The cookies tastes like dust. Too bad though, the coffee was actually decent. They’ll eventually get swallowed up by nearby cafés as with all businesses who have the nerve to mock their patrons.

One of the best capuccino’s in the city. Extremely clean. I find their beans tasty and not overly commercialized. Staff are friendly and the artistry is amazing.

After being a victim of an altercation outside of the store, I was told I am not allowed in their coffee shop because the police said to call them whenever I come around. Sounds like a case of every black man is the same. Am not impressed now or then, did get a lesser greeting than the other customers. I know what it is, it’s called subconscious racist/racism. We don’t need entrepreneurs like that in the neighborhood who blatantly discriminate. Telling me her white customers saw me, and is scared and as a result not to come back. That’s racism at its highest. Please, please correct me if I am wrong Racist like most merchants. Very interesting observation.

Tried the green tea matcha. It had a really nice flavour but I soon got bored of it. Really liked the art work even for a drink that was taken to go. The brownie was very moist but lacked chewiness. Good taste but bad texture. Nice drink options but lacking in the dessert selections.

Came here on a Sunday morning. This is café about a 10 minute walk north of Eglinton Station. After that walk in –20C weather, it is such a relief to find this place. Latte was delightful. They brought it to my table. Atmosphere is very chill. Everyone is reading or writing. Music is soft enough to hear your friend speak. Seating consists of three 2-person tables, one 4-person table, one large communal table that can seat 6, and a comfy section of sofa chairs for about 4 people.
