This is a nice library but the librarians seem to lack control in keeping neighboring students from treating it like play ground. Social gatherings, playing dice, playing tag, treating the library computers like a computer games Internet café, and running around with cap guns to pull on unsuspecting fellow class mates in the public library are a common occurrence. It’s nice to see kids in the library but rather unfortunate to see them acting out in this way. An uncalled for level of disrespect. Even more disappointment in the librarians who choose to ignore the poor library etiquette. Come to this library outside of school hours. Actually, don’t come at all.

It’s a small library with limited selection, but you can always play the online-library game, and have your books delivered. There’s some quiet space, and an area for kids in the basement. It’s an average library — no bells, no whistles.

I love a library full of books I have yet to read. I often feel like I am getting away with something when I leave with a bag of books. Nothing beats free. This library is modern, clean and charmingly tiny. The staff are bookish and courteous. The selection isn’t large at this branch, but you can request books to be transferred for pick-up at this location in a short period of time. A modern library full of free books — beat that Indigo!

The reno on the Jane Dundas Public Library is so new that they haven’t replaced the«artist’s conception» picture on the TPL website. While the basic layout of this library wasn’t changed much, now it looks a lot brighter and more inviting on both the outside and the inside. They’ve got a big kids section in the basement, as well as a fairly large selection of AV materials(CDs, DVDs, and audiobooks). They’ve got a brand-new self-checkout machine, which is also great. One minor complaint: they get a little annoyed if you don’t use the returns drop box outside, even when they’re open.
