Adorable household and handcrafted items: candles, handmade salad spoons, soap, moccasins, more. All Made in Canada.
As I get older, the more I want to avoid supporting products that are made from exploited labor. I worry about the loss of locally made things. I want to the support the «slow» economy, the local.
When it comes to clothing, I recognized that I cannot sew. I wish I could be like Elvis’ mom and sew all of my son’s shirts, but alas. Because what I notice most when I look at vintage photographs is how we once made our own clothes. The lost charm in that: originality, details, quality. All the things you don’t see in most off-​the-​rack clothes.
Jexy & Jax represents a local designer and maker of clothes. I bought the cutest pencil skirt and swing cardigan – original designs, natural fibers, sweat-​shop free. And super sexy.
