I’ve been to many hair salons but this one was really the best experience I’ve ever had. I had been to other salons who turned me down since they didn’t know how to deal with mixed/​african hair since I was planning to get a Japanese magic straight perm. Joanne however did a wonderful job and my hair is just as healthy as before. The salon is small and very clean, therefore easy to walk past, so if you are going there please keep an eye out.

Operating out of a small sliver of space on Bloor West, Joanne and her assistant Myne (sp?) make absolutely the best use of their space.
Upon even a short visit at Joanne’s salon, you’ll quickly find that Joanne knows 70% of her clientele personally. Every time you go, you will be served by Joanne, no other mysterious intern will be hacking at your hair.
Other services including manicures, pedicures and waxing are also performed at this salon, though at a lesser frequency. They don’t have space for a spa chair, so if you were looking for a pedicure with massage chair, this isn’t the place for you. But Myne is a wonderful story teller who works carefully on your hands and feet.
The prices are extremely fair! I got my wedding hair (including veil placement) for only $ 40.
