One of my go-to place to shop for fresh produce in the market. They always have an abundance of fruits and vegetables available with very reasonable prices and at times cheaper than their competitors in the area. I love shopping here in the summer since they have all of my favourite Asian fruits at very good prices. I cannot wait until the seasonal summer fruits arrive! The produce is always organized neatly and displayed with clear labels, so I can always find what I’m looking for. Good size store that I can move around easily and not feel claustrophobic like other places in the market. The staff are usually friendly and will acknowledge my presence upon entering the store. One of the friendlier store where I don’t feel rushed when I make my purchase.

This is my staple for produce in the city. My success rate here with non-rotting vegetables is above average… and considering the notoriety of markets in the area, that ain’t chump change, ladies and gentlemen. In fact, I’ve had a hard time in all my history of Kensington/Chinatown produce shopping. First of all, Jungle doesn’t sell oranges that look like they’ve fallen into the sewer, trampled on, and then tossed back into the pile. Everything I’ve gotten here has been fresh, relatively scar-free, and has lasted in my refrigerator for well more than three days. Not something I can say for every market out there. The service isn’t shrouded in smiles or anything, but depending on how much you spend(I think the minimum’s $ 20), you can grin yourself and sip on a free fruit smoothie with your purchase. Sure isn’t a bad way to stock your fridge and re-health-ify your life at the same time.
