Every time I need a sharpening or have something on my wheels fixed, I go to these guys. Beyond skates, they have a wide range of gear, a lot of pro-stock, and apparel. If you can’t make the drive to Majer, go to these guys.

great one stop place for all your hockey needs. Wide selection, knowledgeable staff, sharpening is also well above average. I bought skates there a few months back and they punched them out, baked them and made sure they were awesome from the first stride. Very impressed. Although staff is very knowledgeable some of them come across as being full of themselves. I’d expect a place like this, with the slight price premium they have, to be able to talk to people that are more accommodating and«eager to please»… The guys in the sharpening pit think they are so cool its painful…

The best place for skate«fitting» in all of the GTAIMO is at «Just Hockey«in North York — affiliated with Source for Sports. The staff there for fitting skates are amazing !!! They’re a very reputable ’ hockey only ’ shop(even if you are just a recreational skater) that carries all the top brands. They’ll make sure you have your skates properly«fitted«by someone who REALLY knows how to properly fit skates. Staff with this skill can also suggest the brands of skate that best matches the unique aspects of your foot, why your feet hurt etc. etc. ’ Just Hockey /Source for Sports ’ located south of 407 on Steeles(north side just west of Yonge Street) just behind a Tim Hortons’ …this place(i.e the staff) is amazing… been playing hockey close to 30 years myself… and I wouldn’t fit skates anywhere else. They have every size under the sun and can custom heat /stretch skates to fit.. The prices are the same for skates as most other places. trust me, I did a lot of checking around. The good thing is, they fit novices to pros. Their knowledgeable staff are the difference in my mind — they identified the problem and solution for my son’s pain while skating — that 3 other shops couldn’t figure out. Prices are pretty much the same as you’ll find elsewhere — very competitive. I had 4 kids in hockey and I’d drive in from Oakville because of the great service I’ve had over the years. They carry all the high-end skates including Graf as well as a full line of other equipment. Highly recommended.

It’s not so much me as it’s Roenick. He’s good. Or maybe it is me with the new skates I picked up at Just Hockey. The store has a decent selection of gear across the boards at seemingly reasonable prices, but more importantly, the staff really know what they’re talking about — they actually play hockey. Imagine that! The salesman spent quite a bit of time with me going over what I should be looking for in a good fit as well as what had improved since my last skate purchase(a lot) and then left me to try on anything I wanted at my leisure. When I actually decided on a pair, he genuinely seemed interested in what I liked about the skate without trying to up-sell me on another pair. It was a surprisingly great experience. Now I’m playing like 4th stringer instead of a minor leaguer.
