10am me: Hello, can you make me a $ 50 bouquet for pick up at 5pm? K&Y: $ 50 plus tax or tax in? me: Tax in 5pm K&Y: Cellophane wrap is $ 3. That’ll be $ 59.50. me: I said I wanted $ 50 tax in. K&Y: OK fine I’ll give you the cellophane wrap for free. That’ll be $ 56.50. The flowers were actually quite nice but this left a bad taste in my mouth so I will not be back.

I used Kay & Young for my wedding this past October, and I was very happy with their service. We used seasonal flowers, I didn’t have anything too specific in mind, just a color scheme, and they were able to put together great centerpieces, bouquets and boutonnieres. They were also very great with sticking to my budget. I found them very affordable, and easy to work with. I would recommend them for weddings/events.

Kay & Young is my go-to spot for flowers. I used them for my wedding 10 years ago and was thrilled with the products they supplied(at perfect prices too!). Now, whenever I need flowers, this is my only place to go! One day, I needed flowers delivered on late notice… I popped by Kay & Young and bought the flowers then put the flowers in a cab on Avenue road to their destination. Perfect solution in a desperate time! On a side note, I find it funny how there are 4 or 5 flower shops in that one block which is only 9 or 10 stores. But out of the flower shops, I prefer and love Kay & Young.

Horrible customer service over the phone. I asked to have 4 short verses from a song written on the card with the flowers I wanted to send my girlfriend and the lady I spoke with scoffed at that and said«you really expect me to listen to you dictate 4 paragraphs?». She had attitude the whole time on the phone so I decided to take my business elsewhere.

We used Kay & Young for our wedding flowers and could not be more pleased. I gave Chris a budget, some photos of flowers I liked and a colour scheme. Other than that, they had free-reign. In the end, what I got was not what I was expecting, but I was thrilled regardless. The floral arrangements were stunning, and we came in UNDER budget even with me adding things last minute. We got centrepieces, bouquets, boutonnieres, corsages, arrangements to hang off of our chairs, loose flowers to tie places, etc. Could not be more pleased, highly recommended. Honestly, I expected to pay at least double what I did. GO here.

This company is completely unreliable. I called them at the end of January to setup a flower delivery for my wife at work on Valentines Day. As my wife works in North York, the lady I spoke to said she had to confirm if the driver was going up there on Valentines day and said she would call right back. She never did! Fast forward 2 weeks later, I speak to a gentleman named Chris who says he has no record of the order but that he knows they won’t be able to drive up there. So I make arrangements to have them delivered to our condo downtown. I call back the next day to confirm and get the thumbs up. It is 7:17pm on Valentines Day. No flowers have been delivered. Furthermore, I can’t even get through to them as their line is busy. I’ve been trying for half an hour. I eventually received my flowers at 10:15pm. I’ve resolved to just email them and try to get some clarity. (The next day) The owner Chris not only emailed me back but also called me. He repeatedly apologized and said the reason was because one the deliver trucks got into an accident. He gave me two options, either to give me a full refund, or to make me another bouquet at a future date free of charge. Even though the experience over Valentine’s Day was still fresh, it was obvious this person cares a lot and went above and beyond regular customer service. Not sure if I’m ever going to use him again, but I definitely won’t hold anything against him considering what he did to make it up to me. Jair

Kay & Young is the default floral shop for all my motherly needs. So when it came time to fancify my wedding, we knew where to go. My god, the patience of Mary(and Chris too, he’s okay) is boundless. This may sound similar to my ring shopping review [*], but putting up with my WIFE(it’s new for me, deal with it) when in wedding-mode is a stress test for any human being, let alone any vendor. Yet somehow, Mary drew upon deep and vast stores of energy to bear the full brunt of my lady’s voracious floral appetite, fending off wave after wave of «what about roses in these colours,» «no no, those arrangements must be fuller,» and«don’t you have branches that are taller?» When the dust finally settled, Mary had talked my partner off the precipice(read: they knew their product, and what was seasonably available at the time). Come the day of the wedding, Mary slavishly produced a dazzling and baffling sixty(60!) mason jar arrangements for our tables(and she hates mason jars). Honestly, they looked stunning. You know how they have those table games to see what winner(loser) gets to take home the table arrangements? People actually wanted them at my wedding. That’s right bitches. Anyway, good job Mary(and Chris). Helped us pull off an awesome day. Prices were reasonable(but it’s a wedding, so I don’t even know what that means anymore). *

My(new) wife and I heard about Kay and Young from a friend and decided to see if they could do the flowers for our wedding. We worked with Chris from the original meeting all the way through delivery and he was fantastic. Chris struck the perfect balance between making recommendations based on his experience and listening to what we(i.e. my fiancée) wanted. When the wedding day came he delivered the flowers early and set everything up before we even go there. He even added some touches that we didn’t ask for to make sure everything looked great. For example, he added rocks to the small arrangements for the cocktail tables to give them more pop. After going through everything we wanted we told Chris our budget and he said he would work within it. He was very flexible and made turned what I thought would be a stressful part of wedding planning into a breeze. Kay and Young is definitely our go-to shop or any of our flower needs(big or small) in the future.

There are three floral shops all right next to each other at Ave and Dav and all three are fantastic! They have the widest selection of flowers and the best prices in the city. It’s the freshest spot too. All three are owned in the same family and run by, I think sisters, but they might be cousins. In any case, people stop in front on Avenue to jump out and grab their flowers from all over the city. It’s a real community spot. My mother used to stop there on her way back from the brunch spot up the street(no longer there) when I was in high school, and now she stops on her way home from work. Everyone is a regular. And the smell! Damn girl, nothing smells fresher in the city.
