I have owned this hat line for years. I even purchased my wedding hat here. One o f a kind, everyone asks where did I find such beautiful hats, and I’m proud to tell them where they were purchased. Some of my gats are over 10 years old and look great each season. Prices are reasonable. You will look and feel like a million dollars! Most of my gats have come from the shop at Niagara on the lake Canada. If I purchased a hat in NYC they would be over $ 500 for this quality.

Fantastic hat shop. SUPER nice owner(Karyn) and SUPER sweet assistants. You can see that they do all the work there. Need the hat tightened? No problem. Loosened? No problem. My head size is also ginormous, about the same size as a guy’s head, so most hats always end up being too tight on me. I love that I can come back at any time for an adjustment. I like all of their styles, their hats are well done, beautifully made, and they have great fascinators too if you’re into that look. I just wanted a hat to block the sun, but to not be a cheap piece of crap from Wal-mart that’s made in China. Their raw wool and fur felt materials are from Europe, and their straw is from the Philippines and China, but the dying is not done there. They just buy the raw materials there, dye it in the U.S., and then THAT gets shipped to Liliput Hats. Fab. This is a beautiful shop, and Toronto is lucky to have one like it. I’m itching to go back and get more hats, but I think I’m good at having just two basic ones for right now. The work, craftmanship and just KNOW-HOW of making a hat makes this place unbeatable. Don’t come here if you want to wear quality hats not made in China. Note: They do sell other brands that are made in China. Watch out for that, and look for the Liliput label(although they can custom-make any hat you want if you like the style).

Fantastic little store that feels like a cobbler… but for hats. My wife and I had a couple hats made up. I had one made because I own a ginormous head and nothing… NOTHING else fits my head. You know those people that think they have the biggest head? They don’t. They’re liars. I do. Where was I? Right. After meeting with staff regarding the material to be used for the hat, band and then you get to choose the little button on the side. How’s that for detail??? They then measure your head(the young lady that measured me? Her eyes bulged; believe me yet?!) and then a couple weeks later, you’re in for a fitting. Two weeks after that, you come in for your new chapeau, complete with new hat box! Cost is UP there. But having things specifically made costs more. Is that such a surprise?

This is an amazing place that the city is lucky to have. You can watch the hats being constructed by the apprentices on classic, specialized equipment at the back of the store. In addition to their beautiful hand-crafted women’s hats, they also carry a small selection of men’s hats and caps. — — — — — — — To bring down this business’s average by awarding one star because some hats cost $ 170 seems overly spiteful to me. Wearable art doesn’t come cheap. With such a specialized inventory, I’m sure the owner isn’t getting rich.

Mike S obviously has no idea of how much work goes into making one of these creations or how much the raw materials cost. The prices are fair and well below what a similar item would cost in NYC.

Think Smithsonian Institute meets fashion architecture. Each stylish hat is built/created here at this quaint College Ave storefront. The hat forms and tools of the trade look to be well loved, and maybe older than all of us put together. It’s a treat to watch a hat being made. People who bemoan the cost of artisan goods obviously only shop at Walmart. If you seek quality and beautiful craftsmanship in a hat, Lilliput is the place.

I’m most definitely a serious hat girl! If I had the option, I’d wear a hat 24⁄7. These days it’s hard to find good hats. Most stores carry trendy in-style type cookie cutter hats. Lilliput is the exception to this. They carry of course the traditional and trendy types, newboys, bucket hats and such. But their designs and patterns are pretty unique. It’s a store devoted entirely to woman’s hats, so really you can’t go wrong. If you’re looking for a costume hat, this is the place to check out. They have a lot of old school and vintage-y looking hats. Pricewise, a little expensive for a hat, but it’s a specialty shop!
