Madam Vintage

Like the first reviewer, I stumbled across this hidden vintage gem while biking home shortly after moving to Parkdale. I was drawn to a splash of denim and quickly turned around in search of a long overdue jean jacket. It was a sea of Wrangler and Levi’s with a few designer and old school jackets thrown in for good measure, all ranging from $ 15-​$ 30. I didn’t find the jacket I was looking for, but I did find a boutique meant for me.
80’s western is exactly what it is. The shop is operated by an aspiring actress whose mother is an authentic Alberta picker. The two pick from Alberta down to Montana choosing unique items with a feminine cowboy flair. Each item is washed before being shipped out and examined before being put on the floor. I’m a sucker for cowboy boots (ask anyone!) and immediately found a replacement for an old used pair I was wearing well past their time. Stylish smooth black boots with contrast stitching priced at $ 50 — AMAZING! Prices here are very reasonable. I also walked away with a gorgeous white purse that cost me a mere $ 10. And if it wasn’t cash only, you can safely bet I would have walked away with a whole lot more!
There are incredible finds waiting to be discovered in this shop from sunglasses to country shirts to scarves and home accents. And ladies, bring your boyfriends. The men’s selection is smaller, but worth looking at. Nothing beats a vintage shop that does the scouting for you, and Madame Vintage knows what she’s doing.

Thanks to Unilocal I had no clue this place existed but when I spoke to the owner, she’s been operating her vintage shop for a year. Where the hell was I?
Making up for lost time, I found great earrings and a leather belt for an even $ 20. The accessories are affordable, ranging from $ 5 to $ 10, and so is the clothing.
If you’re dig the western 80’s look, this shop is a good place to start. The shop owner told me that most of her supplies come from Western Canada and the U.S., which means that you’ll find jean jackets, cowboy shirts and boots. You can also plenty of dresses and dress shoes for both men and women.
One thing to keep in mind: Cash only.
