Often listed in top 10 produce stores in Toronto lists, this place lives up to the hype. What makes this place so great? Lots of organic options at incredibly inexpensive prices. We walk by two other produce shops to get here, it’s that good. Don’t be deterred by a long line, they staff will ring you through quickly and the line will move fast. Just be forewarned, it’s cash only.

I was there today. That pile of «organic» broccoli and unbelievable nonorganic prices is simply not organic. What other lies and deceptions is this seller up to? To be fair, they do have great prices. Despite the trickery around organics I still shop here.

Best place on the street to get veggies and fruit. I love markets and the prices here are the Best on the strip so you can stop looking, you’re not going to find cheaper mangos anywhere else on roncy. They are well stocked– the fruit and veg are better quality than most no frills or metros(ESP the metro on College street). They sell fresh herbs in huge bundles at the cash; veg like slice mushrooms or bridle sprouts, or oyster mushrooms for $ 1. Can’t get any better. Also nice selection if flowers. There are always ppl in there, which makes it a tight for but no matter how many are in line, the line moves fast. The girl at the cashier is seriously the fastest cashier in toronto. She’s so good, and very nice as well. A few times I’ve been in there as they mop the floors, so they clean throughout the day to keep the store looking good. Having grown up near Broadview and lived around Front/Spadina for a few years, I’ve been to my share of markets. This place offers just as competitive prices, but minus the rude staff and pushy customers. I like shopping here. I’m a very big fan of this place.

It’s cheap, but it’s not the BEST fruit on Roncy. There is a much better place down the street, but it is more expensive. Having said that, Maple Produce is fine if you just need to pick up some bananas or lettuce. If you want to get any sort of berries or really top quality, ripe fruit, I’d look a little further.

Let me jump on the 5 star bandwagon for this place. The fresh produce is well-stocked, and the prices are better than any grocery store. two bucks fifty for a small carton of blueberries? Incredible! The space is tight, and you will wait in line at peak times, but they keep things moving and give good service. Every neighborhood in town deserves a place like this.

I love this place for fresh, organic produce. It’s reasonably priced, great quality, fresh and accessable. It’s one of my favourite places to buy produce on Roncey. They also have the over-ripe, wilting produce on sale for cheap at the front of the store. Most places on Roncy have this. It’s great if you need that ripe avacado or bananas or something. It’s a bit of a tight squeeze in there, so bring your own bag. I believe it’s cash only as well.

I really, really like shopping here. I love that a lot of their produce is organic, and often seems to be as local as possible while being lower-cost. I find that the produce here is of very high quality and the prices are very fair. There are often good deals on beautiful fresh produce, such as 2 for $ 2 on big bunches of organic spinach. One of my favourite things about this little market is that they sell off over-ripe/wilting produce for really cheap. Its packaged in grab-and-go $ 1 or $ 2 packs near the till of lettuce, mushrooms, tomatoes, and mixed fruit/veg(sometimes all chopped up and cleaned for you) and there are also baskets of berries and fruits such as pears, apples, nectarines etc out front underneath the produce tables. The people who own this place are obviously ethical/sustainable-minded and also want to make food accessible. Way to go! On top of that, they’re super nice :) I often pick up baskets of fruit to freeze/can/stew and some of the $ 1/$ 2 packs for stir frys, soups, and roasts as well as whatever looks fresh, pretty, and delicious. I often spend under $ 10 and leave with more than I can carry. My housemates can’t believe how much healthy food I’m always cooking, and how little I spend on groceries. Its mostly thanks to this place.

I have to agree with Michelle A! You seriously have to know what you want and be in and out. The prices are great for their produce but it does get a bit busy inside… i only had my backpack and you can easily knock a whole bunch of apples or pears… lol yes I did that. But seriously the girls at the check out are no-nonsense type type type and always making sure you get the good deal by asking you if you want to get one more or if you need bags.

Maple Produce is one of my favourite fruit markets on Roncesvalles. They have some of the best prices for fresh produce on the street and the products always look fresh. This spot is always bustling with all of the regulars and local restaurant owners rushing in and out to pick up their fresh produce, so you kind of have to know what you want and get in and out, or you will be given dirty looks and pushed aside. They usually have two girls bagging groceries and even if there is a line, they’re super fast. It’s cash only(I’ve made this mistake twice but luckily CIBC is right next door). It’s also right beside Sobeys, many bakeries, and an organic health food store if you need more staples.
