Was here with some family members a few weeks ago. The Marian Shrine was just beautiful. Whether you are religious or not, it is nice to just be present and enjoy the quiet and beautiful nature. The entrance could easily be missed if you are driving, so be careful. Feel free to light a candle or two (small fee),
The Marian shrine of gratitude was built in 2005 in gratitude to the Mother of God for saving Father Basil Cembalista’s eye. More than a decade ago, Father Basil’s eye was injured by a sharp dry branch while clearing the gardens. He prayed to to the Mother of God to save his eye and he noticed that not only was the injured eye not damaged, but his vision improved and no longer needed glasses. The popularity of the monument grew and has attracted many people from the GTA.
The shrine is open everyday for all who want to spend some time in prayer or meditation in this peaceful garden. Every Sunday from May — October a moleben to the Mother of God is celebrated at the monument.
