Only the University of Toronto ‘insiders’ know about this price conscious spot on Bloor street. This place is NOT fancy. It’s great with campus colleagues — but do NOT bring a date. Expect the gastropub people to go somewhere else and maybe pay 3 times the price for the same quality of food and possibly smaller portions. It’s like having a meal at Grandma’s house that happens to be located near the UofT campus. Nothing is fancy, but everything is filling. You can get a balanced breakfast or lunch plate for just over $ 10 bucks and that INCLUDES tax and tip if you remember to leave one. The portions are generous. It’s a cross between a school or hospital cafeteria meets Granny’s home cooking. Everyone is pleasant and efficient. Can’t beat the price or variety of food. #Recommend

Have been to Master’s many times, mostly for fish and chips. Unfortunately they have never worked out for me. I love the fries and the coleslaw it comes with, but though the fish looks great, it is slimy and has not much taste, so you have to add lots of tartar on it. Fries are one of the nicest, I mean also the longest, check the photo ;) I have had alfredo pasta, which was okay, but was missing some flavor. Soups are cheap when you have the daily special, but again mediocre. Not many options for vegetarians. I know the people who run in, hard-workers and nice, but for some reason the food do not turn out the same way.
