We were a bit skeptical when we arrived as it was completely empty. But with the sunshine I guess everyone is out and about working up a hunger! We both ordered the cheese burger on Texas white, took a while but soooo good!!! Fries are delish as well! A pleasant surprise!

My husband and I came back as promised but I was tempted by their special of the night instead of the wings. Overall another great service :) two thumbs up!

Is it too much to ask to be greeted when entering a business? I understand it was busy as the Jays were playing but we walked to the side and the bartender walked right past us twice before we left… could she had not turned around and said they were full? Was it that difficult and time consuming? I didn’t try anything but I’m not going back seeing as there are so many neighboring bars with better service. Cheers!

A really great experience. We were welcomed quickly by the bartender and seated in the back. The menu was short but the quiche was excellent and the smoked salmon on bagels was so fresh. The owner stopped at our table and was so nice. She found out where the bagels were from since we were so impressed… she buys everything in Leslieville! Will be back!

A pretty decent selection of tap beer, not the typical ones you see in a pub. The bartender was friendly! I ordered wings since there were more than 5 choices of seasoning, which is unusual for a bar. Do try Cajun and Jerk wings! They were well seasoned.

Living literally 2 blocks east of this new-ish establishment I was very looking forward to its opening last year. unfortunately, our expectations were not met… whatsoever. Its not professional to have owners/co-owners drink at their own bar, with loud obnoxious voices infiltrating the entire bar. The food was not great-and strangely, the chef kept running in and out the kitchen the entire hour we were there seeking to speak to one of the workers and bringing them back into the kitchen? What’s more is the stink inside the bar and the filthy restrooms. What a pity, really wanted this to be our local, would perfer to go to Hitch instead.

I’ve been here on several occasions and each time it’s gotten worse and worse. The good: first time we had the chicken wings, they were delish. As was the quasi-micro brew Mad & Noisy on tap. Bar area was fairly busy with a good vibe. Found out the bartender came over from The Velvet and brought her regulars with her. The bad: every time since then our experience has been downhill. One time we showed up and no one was there. Not even the bartender. She eventually returned with chips and dip from the convenience store across the street. Again we ordered teh wings and somehow for us being the only patrons in the resto they still took 20+ minutes. The next time we came the people seated by the garage door window would get up, go outside and smoke colt cigars while standing at their table and drinking their beer. Apparently the guy had pull in the joint as he slurringly telling everyone how he built the stage out of old plywood. Greeeat. We ordered one drink and left. We really wanted to like this place as the area could really use a good sports pub. Unfortunately the new«locals» killed any chance of organically finding its own identity.

It was a holiday weekend and not much was open. McQueens was so we gave it a try. My partner ordered the peameal and cheese sandwich and I went with the Montréal Smoked Meat sandwich. Both were good. We liked that we had three different mustards to choose from. It was a nice pit stop after a walk on the beach and before heading home. Looked like it was filled by locals so likely they enjoy the place too.

I would like to write about my most recent experience… or LACKOF experience dealing with the people at McQueen’s. I called to make reservations on a Saturday night — — RESERVATION is as follows; «an arrangement to secure accommodations at a restaurant or hotel, on a boat or plane, etc. « By making reservations, it means that I planned accordingly, tried to be organized, and made arrangements to go to an establishment at the TIMEOFMYCHOICE. Otherwise, I would have walked in and took my chances, with the possibility that the restaurant would not be able to seat me or my friends. . anyways back to my LACKOF experience. I didn’t think McQueen’s took reservations because it is a laid back pub so when the told me they did, I was thrilled! Knowing that it was the Leaf’s last home game and I wanted to surprise my husband with a group of friends for his birthday, I told the lady on the phone I would like reservations for tonight at 8:30pm. She told me that she’s not sure if she can hold a table for me because it was an awkward time and it would not be fair to the people at the bar to have an empty table on the floor. so back to my question… What is this reservation thing all about? Do you take reservations or not? Do you only take them at certain times? Why am I not allowed to come in at the time I planned for? Everyone has busy schedules. I cannot come for the start of a hockey game, but wold still like the opportunity to be accommodated when I am told that reservations are taken. She said she would have to talk to the manager and get back to me and by now, I am annoyed and unhappy. She tries to tell me that she can now accommodate me but I have already lost interest. You have no idea how close I live to this place. It was going to be my watering hole and we were going to take our family and friends here for playoff games and brunch… but now, I need to accommodate to whenever they feel like taking my reservation. If you told me that you didn’t take reservations, that probably would have made me less bitter. Go back on your word and this is what happens. Husband’s birthday ruined. Thanks for nothing.

The trilogy of dips is a great(relatively healthy starter) to have before a meal and the menu is a typical pub style menu but the food is great! The service is good as well which adds to the experience. This is my third visit and its becoming quite the weekend staple for me. Great to come for dinner, drinks and to watch a game. If you’re in the leslieville area please do yourself a favour and try it out :)

Firstly, your initial review has the wrong address. McQueen’s is located on Queen Street East, in Leslieville. Stopped by last evening and found a quite busy, warm Environment. A sure hit as a neighbourhood pub. The friendly staff showed me Around the place which has several separate and cozy rooms reminiscent of an English or Irish Pub. Let’s see how they develop their menu, which is a «work in progress». Bravo to Tracy and the best of luck for success ! AHK

VIBE Ah, McQueen’s. It just opened and I already love it. Although the former residence of brunch spot, Toast, is missed, Leslieville needed a cozier local and this place really is it. The size is perfect and the locals are loving it. It really reminds me of the bar, McClarens from the show«How I Met Your Mother.» Good times. WEDRANK/ATE Your basic beers are on tap with one or two special ones. I’m sure as the place grows, so will its list of liquors but for now, it’s plain and simple. They have a good pub menu too with solid classics like burgers and fries. OBLIGATORYCATCHYREMARK Maybe it will be as classic as the movie star, Steve McQueen. I think there needs to be a Steve McQueen movie night. Bullet, anyone? A cozy little spot in Leslieville to call your own.
