I love the convenience of the pre-made deli counter, when I’m not in the mood to cook. I still get a tasty dinner. But my favorite thing is the fresh meats and produce. Great quality! Truly makes a difference to have high quality product when you cook. Worth the price!

Typically the marinated meats we find here are absolutely delicious and the produce is fresh. However, I’d steer far away from the pre-made appetizers in the display cases. I just bit into a beef samosa I bought there today that is full of mould. Ugh. How the f#ck old is this?

I love going there for the freshest fruits/vegetables and the good selection of salads plus ready made hot food. The slight higher prices are worth it for me, a local resident who love the freshness and convenience.

To be fair Meat On The Beach can tend toward the wrong side of the price bell curve, wrong being expensive. Yet pricing is indicative of the socioeconomic landscape of the area that it serves. This is after all the Beach or Beaches if you will, where over 55% of dual income families generate well over the 100K mark annually and inhabitants have the luxury of time, in that they can engage in silly time consuming debates about what their area should actually be called. Its like arguing over the correct pronunciation of say potato or po-tado. Enough of that rant. What I like about MOTB: 1. Family owned and operated 2. Ernesto the owner/operator is a third generation Butcher, which is handy when your running a meat shop 3. The aforementioned Ernesto makes incredible garlic and sea salt bagel chips that go perfectly with baba ghanouj and MOTB has a fantastic baba sans artery clogging mayo which is always a plus. I could only give MOTB a three star rating because it can be cramped, service can be slow and it is a bit on the pricey side and I feel that it may be resting on earlier greatness. That greatness being when it was located on Queen at Kenilworth. MOTB does have an accoutrement of house branded sauces, rubs and dressings and kudos to them for having the entrepreneurial grit and fortitude to market themselves, I simply hope that MOTB doesn’t suffer from the same affliction that has plagued other Queen St. greats think Licks.

We stumbled across this place a short while ago and can’t get enough of it. They have a wide selection of organic meats(some that have been pre-marinated in the most delicious rubs and sauces) and fresh local produce. Prices are a little steep and quarters are tight, but the service is wonderful. The staff are always willing to help you make a decision and they do it with a smile! Overall its a great local place that we really enjoy!

oh. my. gawd. My husband is absolutely obsessed with this place. It’s cute and has an amazing selection of meats and produce — including mostly organic produce which is nice. It’s super close to our place, and amazingly, has almost everything we need. The produce is of extremely high quality. It’s a bit pricy and extremely cramped(which loses its charm after you get hit with a basket one too many times). But, overall, we will keep coming here in order to support local businesses. Plus, it’s good :)
