Needed to replace a battery for my watch. Quick service. As well they did an extra mile to adjust the time as my model of tissot has a terrible usability an rarely even exprts know how to set up time there. Good experience.

Best place to buy mid-range watches in the city. Almost unbeatable price on Omega, Longines, Hamilton, etc. They have very knowledgeable staff. I think this is because it is a family run business so the staff have a real stake in the product. This is actually the only place I have been to where I can say the reference number of a watch or the calibre and they actually know what I’m talking about.

Dropped in one afternoon to have a battery replaced on a watch that’s been sitting unused for a year or so. Staff was very helpful and quick; they said I had«come to the right place» and went far beyond just changing the battery. Within a few minutes the battery was replaced, the watched cleaned, the correct time set, and the strap fixed. All for $ 10.

Bought a 18k gold chain from Minh Chau after getting a quote from two neighboring jewellery stores that exceeded what they quoted. Also, I felt more comfortable dealing with Minh where they let you ask questions with reasonable answers. I like pure gold, or 18k jewellery, and would short list Minh every time. Recent return was to resize a hard to find 14k ring with my birthstone, and VS2, I clarity diamonds. I waited and watched the precision and care the jeweller took. I wanted to get it done, and continue with errands, and was doing so in about 20 minutes. The ring looks like nothing was done to it. Price like other places depends on how much sizing up, so $ 20 and up seems to the their rate. Pricing is two dollar signs because they carry luxury brands, platinum, and 24k gold at competitive prices based on the item you buy.

I have a couple of 3 year old, CK wristwatches sitting unused that required replacement batteries. As a handy person I normally would do this myself except watch back covers have no indent to easily pry open. I decided to have this done at a watch shop. Only watch repair experience I’ve had in the past is with Sears at the Eaton Centre so proceeded there. Since Sears charged about $ 17(including tax) I decided to have just one of the watches serviced here. Job took about 2 minutes –without a scratch. I took the 2ndCK watch to Minh Chau Jewellery in Downtown Chinatown. The polite lady replaced the battery in about 4 minutes– without a scratch Total cost was $ 5. If I had to do it again I would of had both watch batteries replace at Minh Chau Jewellery. Service experience was good and I could have saved $ 12.
