Depends who your agent is. Ours was a senior guy who was never able to reply to an email and often ‘out of the office’. We were always told to call him with any questions, not very convenient if you have a simple question you want answered quickly rather than waiting for his return to the office. His two ‘assistants’ were useless and just told us to call the agent with our questions even though we had been assured they were there to help if he wasn’t. Paperwork for our mortgage was rushed and had mistakes yet we were expected to sign it back. In the end we decided to go elsewhere. Had they let us switch agents to someone who had more time we might still be a client of theirs but they wouldn’t.

As a first time home buyer, I knew nothing about mortgages or buying my own home.
I am so happy that I was referred by my co-​workers [at the bank] to this place.
Karen Mann has been fantastic. She explained everything, was easy to reach, and very professional.
I got the best rate with the best conditions. Better than anything I could find myself. They have access to like 20 lending institutions and will do the research on your behalf.
As a side note, I work at one of the top 5 banks and I am their client. Worst service ever. My mortgage person there just told me to contact him once I had a firm offer. Didn’t even offer an introductory meeting.
To conclude, I highly recommend Karen and her firm. Stay away from the banks.

Tony Lam of Monster Mortgage gave truly exceptional service in finding us the best home mortgage options despite knowing that we might end up not needing a mortgage at all because our present house would likely sell in time. Tony was helpful, quick to respond to all our requests and to act effectively on our behalf, well mannered and highly professional in every way. We ended up not needing the mortgage in the end, after Tony had done so much hard work on our behalf, because as he predicted, our existing house did sell in time. We wanted to write him a good review because he really deserves all the business he can get.
