Mr. Jerky Fish and Chips

I was happy to see a Fish and Chips shop opening in what used to be the bizarrely named/​always empty «Vivante Gourmet Mediterranean Café» — bizarrely named because, according to their sandwich board out front, their «gourmet Mediterranean» consisted of egg salad sandwiches and hamburgers. No wonder it was empty from the minute it opened. Anyway, enough about that.
I thought I’d give the new Fish and Chips joint a try. First of all, the chips are not fresh cut. Big thumbs down if you are going to hang your hat on that menu item. However, as far as frozen fries go, they were pretty good. They dipped them in some sort of batter before deep frying them which made them nice and crispy. Not as good as fresh cut, of course, but not bad. I had the haddock. It was good. Not great, but good.
The woman who served me was lovely. Very friendly, very eager to please.
