Located inside 401 Richmond lies the Musideum. For those of you that remember the section of the Ontario Science Centre which was nothing more than a cacophony of musical chaos, you may have some concept of what to expect within the walls of the Musideum. There are all number of instruments — but nothing you might expect to find. The most well known instrument here might just be the percussion frog. There are thumb pianos, and cigar box guitars. There are — well, I don’t know — long, flute like instruments… except their a meter long. The Musideum offers concerts that you can check out — and on those days, the eclectic chaos seems to be somewhat removed. There is a sense of order… But on the days off, instruments line the walls, cover the floor, and find themselves poking out of all sorts of nooks and crannies. There’s a gas powered one man band, and pink bird slide whistles. Feel free to use the theremin in an effort to replicate the Star Trek theme song. The owner has it down. If you want to find an out of the way piece for your musical collection, or just want to take a look at what is out there, it’s worth taking a moment to stop on by.
