Fantastic. Convenient location, located just outside St. Patrick Station on the Yonge-University TTC line. New Element was a different experience, in a good way. «Traditional» gyms would have mirrors, machines, free weight racks, blaring music etc. New Element had a modern feel to it, with no music, simple white interior with machines. Now, one might think«What??? Just machines??? I’m out.» But I challenge that thought. Andrei, one of the employees, explained to me and my friend what was so special about the machines. Basically, they were hybrid fitness/physiotherapy machines that were capable of properly isolating and working out muscles. Under the instruction of Andrei, we had spent an hour trying out seven machines, and boy, were they effective. New Element Training offers a shorter, more effective workout, perfect for those operating on a tight schedule. One can spend 15 minutes at New Element, and they’ll feel like they’ve worked out for an hour. Would definitely go again, for the fantastic workout and professional attitude/instruction. On a side note, I feel New Element caters more to strength training/building as opposed to cardio, but perhaps they have something else in mind. I did say I wanted to focus on strength, hahaha. 10⁄10.

To be honest I went into New Element not expecting much from it. I thought it was just like every other gym with nothing really new to offer. Wow was I wrong. I have never seen any of the machines they had in any gym before, it was something new. The gym was clean, nice lockers and showers giving a very good first impression. The personal trainer was very clear in explaining everything about our muscles, the workouts, and why the machines are built this certain type of way. After his explanation of the machines I had a better understanding of how the machines were different from the regular ones you see at other gyms. Yet, I needed to feel how it was different for myself. When trying the new machines, they are very similar to the other machines that you use at the gym but at the same time different, it was actually better. Different positioning and method to reduce joint injuries, I didn’t feel a lot of pressure on my joints when doing the exercise. It is definitely something to recommend in terms of increasing strength. The workout along with the machines are all very effective for strength training. If you want to get stronger without risking having long-term joint injuries this is the place to go. The trainers are nice, clear, they push you to keep trying harder, and more importantly they know what they’re doing. I highly recommend for anybody whether you are new to exercising or a person who regularly works out because either way, New Element will definitely help you reach your goals.
