I’ve gone to PWI off-and-on for 15 years. At first it was for acupuncture and shiatsu, but since that medical condition has lessened, I’ve also gone for massages. This place is as professional as I can imagine. They are very courteous, knowledgeable and sincere. I find the location very convenient, as it’s downtown near Bay TTC station. I would absolutely recommend Pacific Wellness.

I have been seeing Dr. Tanaka for acupuncture treatments for my skin condition since January and this may sound crazy(who wants to get poked with needles??), but I am really enjoying my treatments. Dr. Tanaka is very professional and has a friendly and gentle demeanor. The treatments are very relaxing and I usually end up falling asleep during them. There is no pain when he puts in the needles and the treatment beds are super comfy. I have noticed a significant improvement in my condition since seeing Dr. Tanaka and highly recommend him. The reception staff are friendly and pleasant to interact with. I love that they have treatment packages which help save quite a bit. I have also had a shiatsu massage with Joanna. This was my first shiatsu massage, and it wasn’t what I was expecting as I’m used to having Swedish massages which are more relaxing, but my experience with Joanna was a positive one. She is really sweet and I would not hesitate to see her again.

Dr. Tanaka for acupuncture, I really recommend him. I took 7 treatment package, and my back pain got so much better. The treatment room is super quiet, and relaxing. I would go back there if I have any body pains again(hopefully not…)

I need a last minute massage yesterday and couldn’t book in with my regular place. So I tried out this place. The rate was pretty descent, massage was so so, it’s deep but a littler too hard, didn’t spend enough time and detail on where I need massage the most.

Went there recently for a massage with Emily. Sad to say she is now on holiday until the end of February. The massage was very well done and relaxing. She uses pressure points as well as more traditional massage techniques. The location is in a highrise office building and not as luxurious looking as you may want but they don’t keep you waiting, it’s close to the Bay subway station and everything is clean. Their prices are reasonable(at least they were covered by my benefits plan).

I first started going to the Pacific Wellness for acupuncture last winter when I was hit with debilitating stomach pains. Dr. Tim Tanaka, the institutes main doc, met with me and in his quiet and patient way has helped me in the last year to feel much much better. To me, there are three main things that make the Pacific Wellness Institute fantastic: 1) The level of professionalism: Clients are never left waiting for their appointments, the appointment rooms are always spotless, the staff are courteous, friendly and understanding… supplying much needed tissue when you have a breakthrough during a treatment(just a RANDOM example… ahem) 2) Staff knowledge: Dr. Tanaka is the MAN! He stays on top of your medications, remembers everything you tell him and recommends only that which he truly believes will help. Plus, the institute offers other services other than just acupuncture, all performed by highly regarded and experienced practitioners. 3) It’s…relaxing: The treatments themselves are of course relaxing, but the waiting room alone would even lower the blood pressure of Bill O’Reilly if he was suddenly surrounded by Al Franken, Bill Moyers and Rosie O’Donnell. The chairs are by far the most comfortable thing I’ve ever rested my bum on/in, there is a flat screen LCDTV which plays beautiful footage of natural scenes from around the world and you can even try out music headsets that feature waterfall sounds and other natural soundtracks. Within an hour you’ll forget that you are, in fact, on the 11th floor of a big crowded building and maybe even forget about being in a big crowded city.
