updating because they could not have been awesomer for a chill b-day. i called matt like 5 times before the date just to confirm details and he was so nice each time. he let me bring all my own food and even stored my ice cream cake in the freezer. supplied cutlery and dishes and helped us clean up after — didn’t even charge us extra. OH and the bartender bought me a shot. and THEN he bought shots for all my friends. when i drunkenly took a beer outside, he just brought it in for me without a scold. the live musician played happy b-day for me unprompted. and guess what? after getting thoroughly drunk — no one had a bill over $ 20. he didn’t even charge our DDs for their soft drinks. i’m not entirely sure how this place makes money. but they have won me over.

Our elite crew was wandering around looking for a bar when we stumbled upon this place. Plenty of coat hangers where you can hang your coat for free. They got cheap drinks, foosball, dart, and an xbox(cheer up peasants!). Place is spacey yet cozy. Staff are simply awesome. No WiFi though. This place is perfect for students who are trying to have a good time without breaking the bank.

An ideal addition to the neighbourhood, PACT is hidden from view but packs all the necessities for having fun: a long easily accessible bar, casual games like foosball and darts(FREE) as well as a bean bag throwing game which looks fun until someone knocks over your beer with one :0 This place is a breath of fresh air with its open concept, beautiful natural light streaming through the windows, and interesting artwork on the wall which looks fresh and up-to-date, just like the business itself.

This is a nice little spot on the Dundas stretch. It has a bit of a college vibe but it is far enough away from the campuses in the area to be a college bar. I’ve been in a few times and enjoyed myself thoroughly each time. There’s usually sports on the TV but it doesn’t stop good conversation from forming at the bar. The owner has been running the show every time I’ve been in there and he’s a nice guy, friendly, knows the hood well. This is an age where everyone and their mom is trying to open a joint with a down-to-earth, blue collar feel; this is one of the few places I’ve been to that succeeds without trying. I’m looking forward to seeing how this place matures.

This place is pretty decent; ended up here after a UYE event with some other Unilocal Elite folks. In terms of entertainment, they had darts, an XBox, foosball(free, because the dollar tray thing was pull-out, no security??), and some bean-bag-basketball-type game. There was also ~3 TVs that have different programs on them — since we went on Super Bowl day, one of the screens was showing that game! Service was great & prompt — and the bartender even comes out to hang once his shift is over — I think(if I remember correctly) he was playing the UFC game in the back on the Xbox with some of the patrons. Cheap PBR /Steam Whistle, but I give a –1 only because of the lack of beer selection. The higher-end things like Guinness were a little expensive based on what I noticed versus other bars, but for the most part the prices were reasonable. They also have food! It’s mostly some main dish with a chili side, and the cost is fairly reasonable — $ 6. I didn’t get the dish, so I don’t know if it was good value-for-money. Other negative is lack of seating — outside of the bar and a few spillover areas, this place doesn’t have a lot places to sit. It’s definitely a smaller venue in general, so it may not be best if it had 30+ people. Luckily, we went when there was roughly 10 – 15 people. Location-wise, it was fairly close to a streetcar stop, which went straight to Bathurst Station, which is really convenient! Would definitely come back, and would recommend for anyone wanting a great atmosphere in their local bar!

I attended a private event(pop up restaurant) here and had a great time. The foosball table was a nice throwback to high school and the darts corner was pretty cool and laid back. The bar itself is longer than wide, and the bar pretty much runs the length of it. There are a bunch of tvs behind the bar and were playing the raps game. The staff there were okay, polite but pretty boring and don’t remember much about the service. It was a great venue for this event, but I wouldn’t go out of my way to make my way back on a normal night.

Great little neighbourhood bar. The bartender/owner(??) was really friendly and even let me re-do his beer fridge sign for him. He needs to add more beers on tap though but bottled beers were plenty and reasonably priced. Was told that this bar is the only one on the strip with tvs, so it’s a great place to watch a game(even boring baseball). I’ll be back, perhaps make it my new local :)

PACT is a great new addition to the ever changing neighborhood on Markham & Dundas. With a plentiful selection of draft beers, shots(thanks for the tequila headache, guys) and cocktails, this bar is a good place to hang with pals, listen to good tunes(there was some great live music last night), and catch up on your local sports games on their numerous flat screen TVs. For those that enjoy a little action with their brews, there’s darts & foosball and by the looks of things a big ol’ patio is imminent, which will only make PACT an even more attractive place to get an afterwork brew! Vibes: sporty, chill & super friendly

Big thanks to my Toronto partner in crime Evelyn W for hosting one of her awesome dive bar spotlights(Cheap Pours and Sticky Floors) here last night. As most have mentioned, it’s a brand new spot, built in the theme of your traditional Toronto dive bar, hidden down Markham street behind A shawarma/falafel place on the corner. It looks and feels like a dive bar, but the floors aren’t sticky and it still has«new bar smell» — mmmmm, almost better than new baby or puppy smell. Just give it about 6 months of PBR spillage before both these change ha ha. They have some amazing draft beer and liquor specials each night. Last night was SteamWhistle Pilsner for $ 5. The do however have the aforementioned PBR on tap AND I was able to try Liberty Village pale ale last night(hoppy aroma of an IPA with an almost fruity finish — no hoppy aftertaste at all). They’ve got a massive patio in the works right now that will certainly double their capacity, and we got a sample of their music offerings last night that they typically do on a Friday — I want to know who that fellow was, he was outstanding! Cheap drinks, friendly casual laid back staff, and they use Square for credit purchases! Great spot, definitely a hipster hang in the making.

On an hot and humid day, my girlfriend and I came in for an amazing Unilocal event. But more importantly, discovering an great watering hole on Dundas west. The place is not big, and the seating are sparse the room is not that big. But there is just something about this place that I know I’m gonna to love. The laid back atmosphere, the simple rustic design, and the people make this place a hidden gem in this neck of the woods. In terms of the beer selection, there isn’t that many, but the ones that they do have are great and sure to please anyone. If mixed drinks is your thing, don’t be shy, just ask, the bar tender will make it for you. In terms of food, there is no menu that I know of, but you are near an alebaba, and McDs so get you fill there and cure your thirst here! The event is great, cheap drinks and pizza can never go wrong, and the people are warn and friendly. Thanks Unilocal for this great event. Shout out to Evelyn W. for being a great host and PACT for an great evening.

Very great event here. Love the artwork on the wall and how the atmosphere is open and very casual. Drink prices are standard but a very good deal! Tequila sunrise was deeeelicious!!! Located at dundas and Bathurst. It is very accessible via ttc. Will return without a doubt! Great local watering hole. The live music at the event was very lovely and created a very fun atmosphere!

I’ve spent a more than a few nights getting a little too drunk around the corner at Montauk(also a five star establishment), and PACT is a welcome addition to this hood. This hood is thirsty for bars, and dreamz are finally coming true. They’re slinging beer and the usual suspects of cheap draft and reasonably priced cocktails and shots. They’re a large establishment and from the looks of it pretty soon they will have a large patio to match. Don’t let their address fool you, they are tucked just around the corner on Markham. There is a dart board. I am a fucking sucker for a dart board.
