I had the most awful experience in this store today. I walked in with my boyfriend with a piece of art that I needed framed and was greeted by one woman who just started at us(she clearly had absolutely no idea what was going on). We said that we needed to have something framed, and she looked to another woman working in the store who proceeded to look at us and say«I wont be able to help you for at least 15 minutes.» That was all. We stood there, a little shocked and said, «Ok… I guess we’ll go» and she just turned back to what she was doing. I still can’t believe how poorly we were treated. I would definitely not recommend this framer. How stores can think that they can treat customers in that manner and get away with it is completely beyond me. I ended up going to Soho Art Custom Framing(about 5 mins away) and they were fantastic!

I’m one of those people who considers the frame just as important as the art-piece itself. I’m fastidious when it comes to framing other people’s art, and now I had the chance to frame my own: When my one-of-a-kind, autographed Florence + The Machine album arrived, it sat on my desk for days until I was convinced(thanks to Unilocal reviews) that Picture It Framed was the company I would trust with my art piece. I decided to make a trip to the Junction. Picture It Framed is a cozy little spot with hardwood floors and a whole wall of frame samples… I think I took down half the wall. Pat stood by as I sorted through my «maybe» and other«maybe» piles. She coached me through my indecision, and offered expert advise when I explained some of my concerns about the framing of vinyl. We finally decided upon a beautiful, dark art-nouveau style frame, with black-on-black matting and museum quality glass. The framing was done on-time and was of beautiful quality. I didn’t notice it at first, but when I hung up the frame, I noticed a little translucent gold detailing painted onto the frame… Pat knew I was obsessed with adding gold detailing but each gold frame we tried seemed to take away from the art piece… In this case, the subtle gold hues on the dark frame were perfect. To think she possibly took so much care to make the perfect frame blows my mind. Thanks Pat!

Professional framing is expensive — there is no way around it. I had no idea what type of matting, frame or style I wanted but the owner was so helpful in playing with different combinations and colours. The entire process took less than 5 days. An adorable old-Worldy shop with a nice owner. Worth trusting your custom framing with.
