I was really disappointed. I ordered a custom simple cake, vanilla with caramel butter-cream. The event was Sunday, so I picked the cake up the Saturday before since PS is closed on Sundays. When we tasted the cake the next day, it was dry, and the butter-cream literally tasted like you were eating a stick of margarine. I was so excited when I picked it up! What a let down.

I ordered a custom birthday cake in February ’14 Pros: — easy to order: Adjoa(the owner) was able to make my custom cake with only one week notice. I emailed her my requirements and questions and she got back to me that day. She provided sample pictures of cake ideas which helped me design my cake exactly how I wanted it. — taste: everyone who tried the cake loved the flavour. I chose 1 part of the cake to be chocolate with praline buttercream and the other part vanilla with mixed berry buttercream. I also got a custom hockey puck made of rice crispy square treats. — design: my cake was a fairly simple design but I was still impressed. Nothing was messy and even the letters had very clean lines. — cost: I haven’t ordered a custom cake from a bakery business before but was told they could be pricey. Adjoa’s estimate came in well under my budget so there was no need to shop around. — they deliver(for a fee depending on location) — you can pay by creditcard over the phone so there’s no need to go into the shop and your invoice gets emailed to you. Cons: — almost didn’t receive my cake on time. Big no no! Adjoa realized the mistake and ended up finishing my cake last minute. She personally delivered it 3 hours later. If there wasn’t a mix up in delivery date I would have given a higher rating because the cake was amazing.

This is a pretty sweet bake shop. It’s small and cute, a comfortable place to sit down for a few minutes to indulge in your sweet-tooth fixing. The brownies are rich as is the caramel cheesecake. A word to the wise: be sure to take your time when eating the cheesecake in a jar. You pay a deposit on the jar so do bring it home with you to enjoy the rest later. Do not eat it all in one sitting otherwise you suffer from a sugar coma afterwards.

Terrific little bakery tucked away in a location that’s easy to overlook. It’s in the bottom floor of a row of townhouses, and though there’s a sandwich board out front it doesn’t scream TASTYTREATS — looks more like a logo for a kidswear store. Don’t pass it by, though, if you love cakes and cookies at all. Incredible deals here — cakes that will feed 8 for only $ 22 or $ 24. The most tender macaroons(not macaron but real macaroons) I’ve ever tasted. And the cappuccino was surprisingly delish, not drowned out by milk.

MEH. I happen to be walking by today, and thought I’d pop in. I’d remembered reading there profile on BlogTO a few months ago. I wasn’t sure if the place was even open, as the front door to the store front is very non descript. The young girl behind the counter was very sweet, but as for knowledgeable on the baked goods? Not so much. There was a chalkboard that mentioned ‘ask us about diary free options”; my friend who’s lactose intelligent asked the employee, and got a good 30 seconds of silence. Apparently it(just) means they have lactose free milk for the coffee/tea. Oh. Just that? Hm okay. I picked out a butter tart, and it was yummy. A bit generic tasting but the pasty wasn’t bad. My girlfriend got a lemon meringue tea; tea from Tealish. It smelled good!(I don’t drink tea, so I can’t comment on it beyond that). Friend said it was good. I have yet to try the caramel cheesecake in a jar, I also picked up. I sampled a chocolate chip cookie while I was there, and it wasn’t memorable or special. The space is … well. It looks like it was done on a very tight budget. It also gave off a cold feeling. And it didn’t make me want to sit down and enjoy a baked good or coffee. I picked out a few sample goodies, stuffed it in my purse and left. I’d give this place a pass. Nothing at all sets it apart.

I stopped in here after reading about it on BlogTO. The store is nice inside, but don’t blink you might miss it because there is no external signage. The only thing that will tip you off there is something in the building is a small sidewalk sandwich board and a cake in the window. Chocolate moose was excellent — packaged in a mason jar for your convenience. I order some cupcakes and they were ready on time and packaged beautifully. I didn’t eat them(they weren’t for me) so I can’t comment on the taste, but I was given universally positive reviews from all who did. I will return.
