Wasn’t really sure what I expected, but it was not what I expected. I misjudged the size of the venue and thought it would be like other traditional escape rooms where we’d have to go from one room to another, competing against other teams and the clock at the same time. However, it turned out to be rather stationery and static. There were multiple puzzles to solve, and you had to look to the walls for clues. The puzzles were fun and some were easy while others were really hard! The only interactive aspects of the experience were the MC and the projector screen that was part of the clue. So, get ready to sit and really use your brain!

Ok — so this one was probably my first real disappointment, when it comes to whole Escape Games genre. So first things first, to get out of the way; 1. I am not going to give any spoilers on this; 2. This one was a pop-up for two weeks only; with some limited spaces available still open, if you want to go experience it. I have had a lot of fun in the past, when I have gone to any escape game that Real Escape Games has put on, so my expectations were high going into Vol. 3 — Escape from the Vault. So it was a big disappointment, when the first mass escape game was a little less than exciting. The clues were helpful, as we had unlimited clues and the clue givers would provide you with a clear direction when you were stuck. Even though the puzzles weren’t exactly in keeping with the overarching theme. Pregame debrief and post game debrief was slick, exciting and well put together. My biggest grip is probably how stationary it was, especially for the price $ 25 + taxes; and while the puzzles were ok, I just felt that there could have been a little more variety in the types of puzzles that were placed within the game itself. I guess I was expecting something of a mini mashup of Amazing Race frantic activity and puzzle solving; given that they had about 120 people in teams of 6 trying to attempt the same goal, I understand the reason why they took the route that they did. But I really do wish that it was more interactive and active for the price of admission. So overall, it was ok — but just not up to expectations of previous games done by Real Escape
