THEBESTALLAROUND! The staff are genuinely nice people, the americano is the best I have ever had, the chocolate chip cookies are also the best I have had. Their soups(made in house) are amazing. They treat all members of the community with respect and kindness. This place feels like home.

This place is the place. I love the medium roast coffee. All my friends would say the coffee from Redline is out of this world ! I would agree! The banana bread is awesome all of their bake goods is awesome. Service is great atmosphere is great. And they have this great points system that gives you free coffee if you hit 100 points. And many more too offer if your a returning customer with the points card. All in all a caring lovely coffee shop.

As an increasingly critical coffee snob, there’s only one latte in the city worth drinking and that’s redline. If you’re so inclined an artisan chorizo egg sandwich or lush carrot muffin will pair magnificently. #makemondays better

The coffee is cheap and have lots of variety. They also have lots of non cow milk options. Lots of desert type of coffee for example the one with marshmallow on top. Tons of marshmallows. The coffee is a bit weak but tasty in genral. Five start location if you like talking to random people especially the homeless type.

*3.5 stars* Independently owned coffeeshop with good coffee with fast and friendly service. The place has a rustic interior, it’s a cozy space. Their coffee is organic and man, is it strong! Good place for conversation or working on a paper… Quiet and comfortable. I like it.

I like the owner; she is very genuine. She offers a variety of drinks — hot or cold in many sizes and all resonably priced. In the summer, she offers a delicious milkshake made with a shot of espresso. I guess it’s her take on a ‘Frappucino’. The café is decorated with very eclectic pieces; the tables/chairs seem to be upcycled. The area is a little sketchy but as long as you’re aware and alert, you’ll be fine.

I love this place, been going here since it opened and Julie the owner makes a point to remember that. Callum the barista rocks, and is super attentive! Try the toasted coconut latte. Seriously.

My favourite café in Toronto!!! I’m the type of person that is ALWAYS carrying a coffee or tea in her hand. I probably drink at least two Americanos from Redline every day. You can choose from a variety of espresso roasts, too. I enjoy the option to switch it up every now and then. The staff there are so perfect that they remember my exact drink and are sometimes already making it before I even reach the counter. I recently tried the mexican hot chocolate. Delicious and with some kick. They have no problem making it with less sugar and/or less kick. There’s always new artwork on the walls, showcasing local artists. Some of it is absolutely beautiful. An absolute gem of a café with a warm and welcoming feel. The owner is also very lovely and you can tell she is an integral part of the community.

Organized a Monday morning meeting at Redline. I asked for the Redline special because I didn’t know what I wanted to drink. They brought me over a pumpkin spiced latte which was absolutely delicious; made from real ingredients, no sugar, preservatives, etc. My friends also said that was the best Americano and Latte they ever had. We also ordered Redline’s breakfast wraps which were freshly made that morning by their chef. Everything was gourmet and perfect. The vibe in Redline is awesome and everyone that works there is very friendly. I would highly recommend going to Redline. Great service, coffee and food.

Came here this past sunday and it’s a popular spot amongst regulars in the area. The owner is super nice and friendly and they do their best to make a mean coffee. I got a simple lattee and got down to work in the back which has a decent amount of seating. A little more adventurous than a lattee? They have a wide variety of other coffee drinks as well, so feel free to ask them for a recommendation. I’m sure they’ll be able to help you. Patio wasn’t open yet, but heard it’s a gem. So if you’re in the neighborhood, it’s not a bad spot. Felt the lattee was a little weaker than other coffee joints in the city, so definitely an fyi to the coffee elite, you might be disappointed.

Easily the best coffee shop in this neighbourhood. Great service and always feels very welcoming. Great coffee options, it is definitely worth checking out. It is one of those places where you always feel like your treated like a regular customer and are remembered. Will return without a doubt when in this neighbourhood.

User friendly super sweet staff makes one feel very welcome and wanted. Great coffee and organic brownies. Love this place. I do wish it were warmer, and faster internet would be a blessing. However.. I’ve become a repeat customer.

It was suggested I try Redline Espresso Bar next time I was in the area, so as a person who always does what she is told(Haha!) I dutifully popped in to be greeted by Julie(the owner) who with her fabulous Gregarious personality made me feel like I was the only one on the planet. She was So Happy to welcome a new stanger to her shop. I asked her what her signature drink was and fell in love with her Cocunut latte with Agave not sugar. Yum. Even the coffee is from a local Private Roaster(Velvet Sunrise) who has a 2 week rotation on his freshly roasted beans.(you can’t get fresher than that) We chatted for 3 – 4 minutes until 3 more customers came in . Off I went, wonderfully caffeinated for my day. For a special start to your day, check them out just east of Parliament on the north side of Queen. I coming back soon! Marie

Redline Coffee & Espresso Bar is an art gallery café east of downtown Toronto with the cutest menu boards ever! I absolutely love the variety of specialty coffee they serve, with awesome names to boot! Such as their hit drink Ghetto Mocca(dripped coffee with no-name chocolate syrup) and«Hawt» Chocolate. Now, isn’t that fun? It always make a café more memorable with little quirks like that. What made me really happy was when they offered David’s Tea for Indie Coffee Passport holders. I personally never had David’s Tea except for the little samples, so this was a great opportunity to try it out. Despite always ordering lattes from the cafes I hit up, I am a huge tea lover. With the numerous David’s Tea options offered, I had the barista, Amanda, help me narrow down my choice. I chose Chocolate Rocket(doesn’t the name itself make you want some??) and drank it happily with no additional sugar that I would usually add if I had coffee. I really enjoyed sitting and working at the front of the café’s windows. The overall atmosphere was really nice, especially later on in the day. I was disappointed that they didn’t open beyond 6PM during the weekdays, because it’s one of those cafes you can sit through the night. A lot of cafes have art up for sale but Redline is an art gallery where artists can have openings if they wish. The art changes up about once every month. The café also sells $ 10 mug cuffs! I will definitely re-visit Redline Coffee & Espresso Bar sometime in the future!

The Coffee brilliant The Staff brilliant The Décor brilliant My wife is now on my case because of my $ 80.00 a month coffee habit. Great(really really great) cappuccino, nice comfy seats, nice music: When the minutia of the day has you ready to reload… this place will salvage what’s left of your sanity. All these years later… I only get here on weekends… Absence does make the heart grow fonder… Still the best coffee in the known universe. The Nova café just down the street from St. Peter’s could learn a lot from Red Line…

Thanks to the Indie Coffee Passport, I have had the chance to visit a lot of different, and quite out of the way Cafes in the last couple of months while in the search of a free Latte. This Café was visited as a part of a Latte Crawl a friend of mine did and was the third in the day and I have to say, this place is quite the nice little Café. Sure it looks a bit like other cafes and to be honest I do not know about coffee enough to discern if they serve amazing coffee or not. Although I have to say my latte was on the small side. What I can do say, is that with their low-key decour and, if you live in the neighbourhood(which I do not) then that you should ought to check it out. If just to see what it is in your hood. The place is small with less than six tables, which seat four, which makes this place very small in my books. In the end we were a group of about 10 and we were taking most of the seating space. Also, the owner, he seems like a really nice guy. As far as the rest of the decour, yes, they do have some art from local artist, now whether you enjoy the art or not is completely subjective but at least they are trying. All in all, give it a try, but like most local cafes, 90% of their income is based from the neighbourhood, and they do not have the cool factor some better known joints have. PS:. I did not check for free wifi, so I do not know if they have it.

Redline Coffee and Espresso Bar is located near Queen and Parliament which is out of the way for me. Maybe I should go for the double shots of espresso as the friendly barista suggested… but I was wired as it is and don’t want to be more caffeinated before my yoga class! Cappuccino was on the mellow side and taste more like a latte. The vibe here is definitely more laid back and casual. It was in fact really quiet on a Sunday afternoon. Great Indie Passport Coffee shop! Free unsecured WIFI! The washroom in the basement, which I would avoid in the future is clean but has this really bad smell.

Nestled near the queen and parliament bus stop, is this place. You could miss it if you aren’t paying attention. I had ordered an americano. I learnt from my previous experience at my last review just to make sure and tell them not too much water. My brew was OK. Yes, i could order it again. However, it still doesn’t measure up to my faves or my go to’s. I would say, if you are in the area it beats any chain hands down. Go here first. There is a very comfortable feel to this café. Rickety chairs and tables, back area patio and local art on the walls. All that while you sit down and enjoy your cup with some baked goods and free wi-fi.

Came here to use my Indie Coffee Passport this weekend — so far this is one of my favourite passport finds! The location isn’t bad, it’s a convenient stop if you are making you way to Leslieville or the Distillery District, although the immediate environs are not that exciting. The space is warm and relaxed, with lots of interesting art on the walls(for sale). There’s loads of seating, from the benches facing Queen E. to the couches at the front(good for newspaper browsing or if you’re in a big group), and smaller tables equipped for people bringing their laptops. But with the nice weather, I chose to sit in the little patio in the back. It only seats about 6 – 8 people and feels like someone’s cozy backyard, with potted plants and cute furniture. The drinks menu is extensive, but the excellent service is what makes this café stand out. The genuinely cheerful barista greeted me immediately and was really enthusiastic about the Indie Coffee Passport, asking where I’ve been and making recommendations re: where to go next. She told me I could get ANY drink with the passport, regardless of price and said if there was something I wanted that wasn’t on the menu, she’d try to custom-make it for me. I opted for a tea latte and she brought out a bunch of different teas I could choose from(David’s Teas) and smell. There was this dark chocolate one, a roobios one, a Moroccan mint… but I decided to go with an oldie(but a goodie) — the creamy earl gray. You can choose your milk: whole, 2%, skim, soy, and even almond. Later, I overheard another customer tell her that their chai latte was the best he’d ever had. The barista made repeat appearances as I was reading on the patio. Checking in on how people were enjoying their drinks and letting us know when she had to reboot the internet. The staff foster an environment where it’s so friendly that it’s not creepy if the person in the next table strikes up a conversation with you. The food selection looked decent — some muffins, cookies, croissants as well as ice cream. But I didn’t try any on this visit. Bathrooms are downstairs — no mirrors though! I’ll definitely be back next time I’m in the ‘hood:) Indie Coffee Passport success!
