The owner is very talkative. I thought the records were over-priced, But what do I know? They also sell comics and have some books and posters. I had to wash my hands thoroughly after touching the merchandise.

If bears loved vinyl, they would make Ric’s Collectibles their den. It’s like a subterranean cave filled to the brim with records.(Imagine hibernating to King Crimson?) From Queen Street only the tiniest of signs announces its presence, so be on the lookout. Tucked in below Daniel Jewellers, a red door leads to a short and narrow staircase. Maybe it’s not so bear-friendly after all. You’ll want to roll up your sleeves(and perhaps put on a pair of gloves), and get digging through their LP collection. There’s quite a lot of stuff here. From my quick browse, I saw a wide array of categories represented including a pretty decent metal section. They used a crucifix for the T in metal; that’s how you know they mean business. Joe is the man at the helm, a super-friendly dude who’s always willing to chat and is remarkably organized. It wouldn’t shock me if he’s listened to every record in the place. He definitely seems to know where they all are. I’m not one to buy vinyl(not really cool enough) but they have used CDs and DVDs. The CDs were 2 for a fiver, which seemed pretty reasonable for me. I found a 102.1 The Edge sampler(remember these?) from wayyyyy back. I gotta go back and snag it. If only I could remember where it was. Obligatory Title Pun: Hey RICKY you’re so fine! Menu Readability: Seek and ye shall find is the motto here. Need to mention: Cash only. What this place teaches me about myself: I may not be cool enough for vinyl, but… ah, I got nothing.

Good selection. But they need to price their records. And it would be helpful if they clean the place up. Dirt and Dust x 10

on the outside of the sliver of a window that grows from the sidewalk of queen street at carlaw is printed«delta records» in red lettering. but this place is called«rics collectibles». the only way to know that is to check out the handwritten sandwich board on display out front. or go inside. a couple of steps downstairs and you have a basement filled with records mostly. the other formats for music are there, but i neednt tarnish this places name by even mentioning those lesser forms. indeed the guy at the front was all too eager to talk to me about the beauty of the vinyl sound and he kept teasing the cds on the shelves. their cases started cracking. as they apt to do. there are sections of the store that have a dozen or so books on music, a reel to reel antique, some amps and the record sections are divided by, well, records with the names of bands on them. for a place thats easy to pass by and not notice this place seemed to be busy. there were at least three or four people that came by as i was talking to the musicman up front. some of them had even brought their own record bags. old school + new school. coooool.
