I’ve been to Rockie Raccoon’s a few times and its always been for their once-monthly Rock Band night. I’ll echo the sentiments of the other reviewers in that this place has all the makings for a regular hangout spot if I ever move into the area. Its got a laid back feel, super awesome staff and it’s a great placed to get trashed with your buds and not have to be dominated by whatever sports game is on TV that particular evening. However, the Rock Band nights I’ve been to have been tons of fun. For someone who’s not comfortable getting up in front of strangers and singing my heart out, I managed to do it no problem with the crowd that frequents on RB night. As a smoker, I had the chance to chat a bit with some of the folk that come out and they’re all really nice, very approachable people. Not what I’d typically expect from a downtown bar(of ANY kind). Diane is a pretty hilarious host and makes the night fun! If you want a night out that’s a little bit different, check out the Rock Band night on the first Saturday of each month. I hope that I get the chance to hang out here more in the summer, especially when their patio is open! This is a place where you can easily get comfortable and enjoy a fun night out with your friends.

I agree with the previous reviewer. Rockie Raccoons has all the elements of a great hang out spot. The patio is lovely, up among the trees. The food is good and service is friendly. The competition with other pubs in the area, plus the fact that it is upstairs and not well signed, make this bar less popular than it should be.
