I marched right into Rogers Wireless today knowing exactly what I wanted and this is the only reason this was a relatively painless experience. Had I not researched the product(the wireless stick) beforehand I’m sure I would have been swindled or upsold to sign up for a service I didn’t really want. You know, it IS Rogers. The sales associate I dealt with was very friendly(maybe even a little too personable — I was buying a USB stick and he was practically grooming me for marriage) and set up my new service quickly and explained how everything works. As the only competent employee in the store he was called upon by his coworkers to help with all of their transactions, which was a little annoying as it was constant interruptions and lengthened a five minute setup to fifteen minutes. Although it could also have been a case of what my friends and I call«John B-itis» — our friend John B adores being relied on at work and showing off that if he doesn’t do it, it doesn’t get done right.
