The day before my baby shower my sisters and I walked into this salon. We’d had an appointment with another in the neighbourhood and the hairdresser was a no show! So kudos to the Parisa staff for showing up to work! I am super low maintenance with my hair. I like to keep it long and simple over the last few years. It’s simple and the shape works well with my hair type. While she was washing my hair I said I would just like a good trim. My hair was quite long and I said I don’t want to trim more than 2″. I have to note, while I’m never sensitive to these things(and maybe it’s the pregnancy hormones), she had either very bad breath or body odour that was incredibly overwhelming. Those types of things do not generally offend me but it was so strong I was waiting to get out of the chair. She suggested I layer it all due to its thickness; saying it would really lighten the weight. I’m quite used to my thick hair(I’ve had it as short as 2″ all over; bob cuts; etc). I told her I’ve had that suggested to me over the years but it just never sits well with the waves I have. She insisted a few times she knows how to cut hair properly and will do a good job. I said I’m confident she knows how to do the cut; I just really don’t like that cut with my hair type. She suggested we just trim the very front sides at any angle, blending a bit to shape the front. This is what I normally have done and agreed. Once in the chair, her cell phone rang and she answered it! She talked on her phone for about two minutes. Finally her initial cut was an inch. I said you can take off 2″ all around. She layered my entire head despite my instructions. The very longest layer in the center back she took off 2″, and in the front she took well over 4″. I was so angry. I kept asking why she cut it so short and she told me to wait until it was done because she knows what she is doing. At the end it was definitely too short. I asked her to simply blow dry it straight but VERYVERY full, lots of volume. She just kept pulling my hair straight down as she dried it. I tried 4 times to ask her for volume. She said she wanted to blow dry it straight down so I could see how long it is, then she would add the volume. My hair ended up limp against my head. I don’t even know how she managed that with the thickness I have. I was visibly upset and at the register Parisa said she would fix it. She attempted with a couple of round brushes, but didn’t get very far. She did leave me with a section of burnt scalp for the next hour or so. And they still charged me full price. I was fuming. I don’t know why I paid them. I think I was so angry, I knew if I said anything at all I’d probably blast them. Needless to say I had a horrid puff ball mess of a cut for my first baby shower. Several people were surprised at how much I cut off. — My sister had a manicure during my appointment. The manicurist also answered her cell phone! She looked at it and said it may be her other client. Then said«oh it’s my sister» and she casually chatted for several minutes. She completely ignored my sister through the entire treatment, talking to other staff members. Horrible horrible experience. The staff were not genuine at all. It seemed Parisa was training them. Another hairdresser was trying to blow dry a client’s hair and Parisa had to cut in and show her how to hold the brush.

I’ve been here twice to thread my eyebrows because I was in the area. The customer service is inconsistent and I felt judged as both times I came with a backpack and my school supplies. Eyebrows were okay but I wish the lady would suggest shapes for me rather than ask me what I want to do… she’s supposed to be the expert. Also, it was very rushed although there were no customers after me. I ended up going home and realized my face still had eyebrow hair all over my face. Update: My friend said this was a sassy review. I agree. #kjames

I am downgrading my rating for Salon Parisa. Ever feel like you’ve been violated during a haircut? Nope, me neither… until Salon Parisa. I saw a sign saying $ 100 for a cut and highlights. I asked for a cut and ombré colouring, she charged me $ 200, okay sure my ask is a bit different so I paid an extra $ 100. I’m convinced that their hairstylist has no formal training. She had me get up out of my chair, flip my hair over(while she cut it) and I felt like I was in yoga class holding a weird pose. The chairs don’t go up and down so I was left to slouch and when I couldn’t get up tall enough the hair cutter complained I was too short. She wrecklessly pulled my hair, and was forceful in everything she did. She kept saying to me «if you want to look pretty, it’s going to hurt!» OMG! Am I in a torture dungeon or a salon? I’ve had Brazilian wax jobs that have hurt less. She tried to comb my knotted hair out while it was still wet, and when I suggested that she try to dry it first, she balked at the suggestion. She would not give me the colour that I wanted, and although the cut was okay the colour job was not what I expected. This was also not the first time they ruined my hair… another stylist gave me some china doll bangs that looked horrible. My hair has been a mess for the past year and I attribute it to giving into convenience, this salon is in my office building so I gave them many chances. Never again.

1) «Your child is disturbing our system, so get lost!», was Parisa’s(the owner) reaction to my little one who was getting her very first haircut with crying(as most kids do at the hairdressers). I, shockingly, turned back to her and asked whether she just told me to get lost. She repeated herself 3 times! Such an unprofessional behaviour is outrageous! If she is losing her tempter so easily how come she accepts a child?! 2) The so-called specialist for kids was so slow, nervous and incapable of handling the job that you could simply say she was not experienced. The last thing that a customer wants, is to deal with a rude and short-tempered owner and an inexperienced hairdresser when walking into a salon. I cannot believe these people wasted my time and eventually sent me away with an unfinished haircut! I would never recommend this salon to anyone, nor will I ever return.

I had been here a few times to get my hair coloured, highlighted, and cut by a senior stylist and even the owner. While I must admit that the quality of work was good, they are lacking a lot in customer service. I believe that if I’m going to spend upwards of $ 300 per visit for colour/highlights alone(not including a cut), then my stylist should a) be on time and b) give me their undivided attention throughout my appointment. There are far better places in Willowdale to get your hair done, where they provide stellar customer service at a lower price point.

I heard about the salon from my friend and it was a great tip! I can only recommend. Nice people, great treatment, and professional advises. It is not just«a» haircut!

I’ve been looking for a salon that would be able to do my ombré highlights for me, and after extensive searching I stumbled upon Salon Parisa. After consulting with Parisa for a while I was convinced that this was the place for me. Parisa ended up doing an amazing job on my hair. Plus, the team at the salon is so friendly and patient. I highly recommend going there!

Been here twice — once having Sue do my highlights over again which the Asian girl at De Berardinis @ the Fairview location screwed the eff up! Anyhow, Sue did an AMAZING job — got many compliments from her work on my hair and still to this day miss it now that I have dyed over my previous blond highlighted tresses. The second time I came because I had such a good experience the first time and Sue wasn‘t around so I had Carmen cut my hair — told her I didn‘t want my length cut that I just wanted layers and she actually listened to me and did this weird thing where she told me to stand up and bend my head down as she cut the layers this way. Never in my life was I asked to perform such an act but my GOD when the results came in after it was amazing. And I told her I‘d do the blow-drying myself and she ended up helping me mid-way and did a tremendous job with the blow-out not even charging me a penny. From both the times I came they never charged me more than $ 100 and when I told them I was on a budget they listened — even to the instructions I wanted done for my hair. I‘m thankful that this place exists with great people working there. I‘d definitely come back

A little hidden salon at North York centre. Telma is great at her job. I absolutely love her. I highly recommend the threading and eye brow shaping here. She also knows how to give great manicures.
