This review applies to all Sketchley Cleaners(in Ontario). I brought my sweater to the Eglinton Square location for dry cleaning. It was returned to me with about 10 cm of wool pulled from the front. I was told it had to be sent to head office because they are a franchise operation and they could fix it, and it was returned, in their own words«not 100%». Despina, at head office, said she could only reimburse me for the cleaning, but not the sweater(which cost $ 175, by the way) because, in Despina’s words, «the nature of the weave made it very delicate and prone to pulling.» I know, that’s why I followed the instructions on the garment to dry clean. This company has no policy on their website for damaged garments. I think this is a major issue and really leaves you feeling powerless when your hard earned clothes are destroyed and no one will accept responsibility.

I called twice in a row, and a lady picked up both times. My connection wasn’t the best, however, that didn’t phase her. She hung up both times immediately. Wont bother bringing my business to them if they don’t have patients.

It’s sad that I have to drop stars for this place. The last few times I’ve been here, I’ve been a bit disappointed. I brought in different items to be cleaned. I was asked to come back in a couple of days but my clothes were not ready until days later. Some days they couldn’t even find my clothes and I was under the impression they were lost, even though they were not. Also, the place itself doesn’t smell clean right when you walk in. There is a strong stench of disgusting sweat which makes me feel weary of bringing my clothes here to be ‘cleaned’. The prices are fair and the staff continues to be very friendly and helpful.
