The Right Foot Dance Studio

If only there was an option fro 0 zero starts. I had a very disappointing experience at this studio in Toronto. About 3 months ago, a group of dancers and I planned to host a workshop and wanted to try a new venue. We had never been to RightFoot before but we knew a lot of other dancers that were affiliated with the studio and we decided why not try it out. Booking the venue was fine… it was everything else after that wasn’t.
When we arrived a 20 minutes prior to our event (which was approved and confirmed by the faculty member who did our booking) the entrance door was locked. We had no way of contacting them because 1) their business telephone number is not in service and 2) their website was no longer active (they only have facebook and twitter). We had to wait about an hour before someone came to open up the studio, which delayed our workshop class
we were setting up we had a few questions about the venue and its facilities. The person who opened up the studio left and no other faculty showed up. This was really frustrating because we had never been there before, didn’t know where things were, and had no idea how to use their sound equipment. But when we looked around the studio we started to have an idea as to why no one was there. The facility was an absolute MESS! Garbage was OVERFLOWING out of the bins, which then began piling up on the floor, and their front desk was filled with empty water bottles and chip bags! Because of the overflowing garbage, the floors were extremely sticky from the opened drinks and food left on the floor. THE BATHROOMS WERE THE WORST PART! There was dirt and dust EVERYWHERE (the sink, the walls, the floors), both the women’s and men’s washrooms had a horrible odour (as if they hadn’t been clean for a while), and there were flies inside. The hygiene level was very poor and I feel that is a VERY important health risk to attend to as it is important for all customers. At the end of our workshop there was still no presence of a staff member so we weren’t sure who would be taking care of the studio…
Overall, although we’ve heard about our friends taking classes there I would NEVER recommend renting out this facility or even taking a class. This first experience (and now final) was enough to keep me from coming back to RightFoot.
