Great selection of food & craft beers in a warm, super cosy setting — LOVE at first sight. Only came here for a few drinks, but I’ll definitely be hitting up their menu next time I visit!

cute spot — like the atmosphere, super nice staff. good place to grab a drink. wasn’t planning to eat, but the place got busy as the night went on, and not wanting to switch venues it was convenient to have decent options to go with our beers(tried the bean and cheese dip, and the potato and fish cakes, decent, but if i get food next time, would try something else).

We come here for brunch every weekend with our toddler. The food is always great, with a variety of different daily offerings. Coffee served by the bodum! They are extremely accommodating to us, and make our little girl yogurt and cut up fruit every time, and never complain about the mess she makes. Love the atmosphere. Love the music they play. Would highly recommend to anyone.

Shit beer selection and kitchen closes early. Again fuck your shitty beer. Great ambiance though.

I used to live in the Bloorcourt/Bloordale area and Three Speed was always touted as «the» place to go. I’m here to tell you that it really kind of isn’t. I mean, if you like hipster bars where all the staff are uncaring and kind of rude, fine, but you can get better food at any restaurant like that down in Little Portugal. The food isn’t worth it for the other hassles. I will say I do enjoy their drinks and their patio is fab. But honestly — go somewhere else for local food. I suggest the Whippoorwill.

It’s a good place. Nothing is great, nothing is bad. It’s a fixture, everyone knows it, few love it. It’s reliable – you know what you’re going to get, and what you’re not going to get. I think they’re updating their beer menu, hopefully for the better.

A small, dimly lit and unassuming restaurant — a true hole in the wall. I wouldn’t say the service is slow — more like relaxed, so don’t come here if you’re in a rush. The food is great though — it tastes like home cooking, accompanied with the dim lighting can be relaxing. Mussels change daily but are great every time — a steaming bowl served with bread on the side. Chicken + Mac(plus a salad) is pretty good, but I like the mac more than the chicken. Tried the pork loin and linguine daily specials as well. The pork loin was like a Thanksgiving dinner plate, with the pork loin topped with a spicy cranberry sauce atop a cheese polenta. And the al dente linguine was covered in seafood, accompanied with two slices of cheesy bread.

This is a good place. I found it online as a good place to take a date. So I went there on a first meeting with a woman and it had a nice atmosphere. The music was pumping but not so loud where I had to yell. And a slightly hipster crowd didn’t dampen the evening. The service was good overall and the menu selections were very cool. They also had a very good selection of beer on tap and my favourite pint: Mill Street Tank house. I liked the black bean dip with cheddar cheese rather than your overdone three cheese dip. Although I wasn’t planning on eating, I was hungry and I enjoyed the dip a lot. This tasted very good and the chips seemed to be cut in-house which is another bonus. I would totally go back to 3 Speed and try their other menu items. Another bonus is they have a nice patio in the back. I planned to sit there but it was packed. The fact the whole place was pretty full on a Wednesday night shows how good this place is. So, yeah, come here and enjoy some good food, tunes and alcohol. On another note, I paid for the evening and she didn’t take out her purse. I guess it was a date afterall!

Food is fantastic but the service is super slow. I’ve gone to this place on 3 separate occasions and I find the servers very inattentive.

It’d gets pretty crowded in there but that’s part of the fun. It’s out go to when we don’t know where to go. Great for grabbing drinks with a small group of friends.

Three Speed is my favorite hangout spot since I’ve moved to the Dovercourt village. The staff is great and the back patio is awesome during the summer. Have the mussels! They’re great and cheap! I like the beer selection, and the desserts(especially the coffee brownies, I really cannot have enough).

Delicious sandwiches, cozy atmosphere, and a nice selection of taps. Very reasonably priced for the area but what earns this place 5-stars in my books is the service. Friendly staff, quick service, and when they make a mistake, they certainly acknowledge the error and do everything to make it right(unlike a particular other restaurant I had the unfortunate luck of visiting — read my other reviews, you’ll see it. .. .). Not only did the server make the order right, he also comp’ed the first drink, no arguments, no question, no fuss, no muss. Now this is a place I would go back to and a place I recommend to my friends.

I think this place is a great example of a friendly neighbourhood watering hole. The bartenders are so friendly and remember everyone. The music is fun and isn’t overpowering, which creates a great environment for conversation with friends. They have a back patio that I haven’t had the chance to see yet(it’s winter). The drinks are made well and there is a good selection of beers and cocktails. After moving to the area, I tried a few places and this is definitely my favourite.

Pretty great small plate menu. The Chicken and Mac cures hangovers, which is convenient considering you’re sitting in a bar. A very extensive beer & bourbon selection. And out back? Shangri-la! But shhh don’t tell. Good music and great clienele. Very much a gem in the Bloorcourt area. *BONUS* Stones throw from a Taco Bell. LIVEMAS.

This has somehow become my go to brunch/afternoon drinking place. They have really good breakfast specials and are always offering something new and yummy. The standard brunch menu is good too. I’m not a fan of their dinner menu. The only vegetarian options are crazy cheesy/oil sandwiches and its just a bit heavy for me unless I’m really in the mood for oil. They have a great back patio and its great place for for a date night or drinks with friends. Other pluses — they do split bills — hassle free!

This place is absolutely amazing! I can’t even put into words how much I loved this place from the perfect hipster cool décor, to the fairy lights and candle-lit atmosphere. The menu is small, but impressive. I’ve been here twice and the dishes were so good that I had to make it for myself at home because I was craving it so much(this isn’t in my neighbourhood, or I would have just had them make it for me). Here’s a run-down for the food: I had the fish special with crispy skin trout, root veg purée and maple dijon sauce. The fish was cooked to perfection, just raw enough in the middle to my liking. It paired nicely with the purée and sauce. My dinning partner had shrimp linguine with white wine sauce. There were plenty of plump shrimp nestled amongst the citrusy white wine sauce and pasta. It was also studded with wilted spinach and fresh cherry tomatoes. I have to admit, I had to steal more than one bite it was so good! I had steak and potatoes on my second Three Speed visit. The steak came as I had ask, a good medium rare with a delicious red wine sauce. It was also accompanied by deliciously chunky mash that was just creamy enough, but wasn’t baby food. The pints are reasonably priced and they have a good selection. But in my mind, the food and atmosphere are the real reasons to go to Three Speed.

Came for a drink here yesterday and sat on the patio. Full marks for the drinks but a solid –3 stars on the service. Our server seemed uninterested in helping us with our first round. When it came time for the bill the three separate couples asked to have the bill split 3 ways, to which the server responded — «so one bill then?» We responded no, 3 bills please. She returned with one bill and said«Sorry I didn’t want to waste paper» all drinks were on one bill — seriously? LAZY Won’t be back

Okay, I have a bone to pick with this place. We have been here several times for brunch and once for dinner. The food is surprisingly good, but now I am wondering to myself if this is just because the appearance of the place lowers your expectations. The problem I have with Three Speed is the service. We have never had great service here — it has been consistently adequate, with leanings towards surly. Tonight, however, was an infuriating experience. There is nothing that angers/disappoints/disgusts me more than establishments, products, services that fail on basic and fundamental levels. Like a vacuum cleaner that doesn’t suck(literally, not figuratively) or a sandwich shop that makes crappy sandwiches. Well, from the service side, Three Speed fails on the most basic level. Tonight we walked in to a semi-full restaurant and were greeted by… well we weren’t greeted at all. We stood at the entrance(two of us) and waited. Another couple came in behind us and waited. No one greeted us. No one talked to us. No one looked at us. At one point, a female server brought a dish to a seated customer right in front of the door where we were standing. She left the plate and turned back to the bar without looking at the people waiting at the door. Finally, my partner took it upon herself to go to the bar and ask whether this was a seat yourself establishment. The same server indifferently asked«how many are you?» and hearing the answer, pointed to a table and said«there’s one right there.» I thought this city had evolved past«hipster-indifference-lack-of-service-I’m-too-cool-to-give-you-service-service» but apparently not. We left and went to the Emerson where they seem to care that people give them money.

I don’t understand how this place is considered the best bar in the city. It’s a pretentious crap whole with equally crappy food and service. It’s impossible to get a table there, the people are eye-rollingly vapid and the food would be better if they just gave up and started serving instant ramen. I had my first and last Rueben here; I’m pretty sure they are responsible for it becoming my new Least Favourite sammich out there. I live less than 5 minutes from it and avoid it as often as I can.

Great back patio with loads of outdoor seating, solid beer selection, and interesting menu. However, the food was not quite right. The mussels came with white toast instead of fries(an odd combination) and the coconut sauce was so watery that the bread was not worth dipping into it. The salmon was OK but definitely not fresh or wild. It was $ 10. In my view, Three Speed should stick to simpler offerings such as sandwiches(which they seem to do well) and steer clear of «fancier» food items. The service was fine but there was definitely an annoying element of hipster/too-cool/a tad rude. Minus one for that. Why not smile? Why not be polite? I would return for the outdoor patio.
