We took a cruise on the Aurora Borealis on June 20. The tickets said the theme was Disco/80s but you wouldn’t have known given the music. It was from the 90s and 2000s. There were maybe 3 songs from the 70s. Other guests were dressed in 80s garb and probably felt very silly due to the lack of promised theme. We boarded roughly on-time and left just after 6 pm. Dinner was ok. The pasta tasted like ammonia. The bun and chicken were actually delicious! The staff was very kind and polite. They were quick and efficient. Whoever was driving the boat needs a lesson on the sights of Toronto Harbour. The whole cruise was meant to last 3 hours but we got about 2.5 hrs. They cruised up by the Islands a little too fast, could have slowed it down a bit. We were offered some cake about 30 mins before we were done. On our way back, we were stopped right in front of the GFL garbage sorting island for at least 10 minutes. You could smell the garbage and enjoy your cake at the same time! All in all, I’d give no stars if the staff wasn’t so nice. Good thing we had Groupons. Now I can see why this company tries to get people to buy them. It’s not worth $ 85+ per person at all!

Booked this trip through a Groupon deal with some friends. The boat was supposed to be the Aurora Borealis but we ended up boarding this one. We boarded quite late. Boarding time was supposed to be 5:30 but we didn’t get on until quarter past 6 because there were dumpsters in the way. It was very unorganized. You could see staff running around cleaning and loading food onto the boat. When we finally got on, it looked a bit sad and dingy. I think the washrooms were the best kept part. Brightly lit with heaters and seats. Full length mirrors and nice décor. As an apology for keeping us waiting we all got a free shot on the house. Belvedere. It was a chilly night out so that definitely warmed us up. Dinner proceeded shortly after. Dinner rolls, caesar salad, pasta and chicken skewers. It wasn’t anything fancy, stuff you could easily whip up at home but it wasn’t bad at all. Bar and DJ were at the upper deck. Lots of birthday celebrations that night. Mixed crowd but overall everyone seemed to be enjoying themselves. There really was no wow factor overall for this cruise. I’m glad we got it for cheaper. I wouldnt pay full price for it. Because of the people I was with I had a good time but if you’re looking for something fancy, this isn’t it.
