I’ve been going to Valentino’s for years now. It’s always consistent: super-friendly service and top notch salmon. A really wonderful neighbourhood place and the salmon is infinitely better than anything you could get at a supermarket. And Valentino’s has branched out and carries other fish and some meat products as well. A real neighbourhood gem. Absolutely recommended. Be sure to stop in on the days when they have sushi grade salmon.

My son discovered Valentino’s about a year ago. What a wonderful find! He loves their smoked fish — sushi grade salmon, trout, whitefish. Their candied salmon(maple syrup) is delicious. The owner Michelle, staff Yasmin and Cher are very friendly, accommodating, lovely people. Aside from smoked fish, they sell extremely fresh in season fish at reasonable prices. Best pickerel I have ever had, haddock, halibut, white fish, salmon, trout, etc. I usually call ahead to ask what is available before dropping by after work to buy fresh fish for a healthy meal. She also stocks great condiments such as Himalayan salt, local honey, maple syrup, crackers, etc. A true gem!

Best fish in town! I will never go back to eating prepackaged smoked salmon from the grocery store again! In addition to smoked salmon, you can also pick up a nice fillet for dinner, as well as sauces, and beef. The staff is friendly, and prompt, although you might find yourself wanting to linger and chat for a bit too! So glad to live so close to this shop, so we can get our salmon fresh out of the smoker! Drop by sometime, you won’t be disappointed!

WOW! Valentino’s has reopened, this time in a much more central, more residential area, north of Greektown at Pape and O’Connor(TTC Buses 25, 81, 100, 8). They’re not«officially» open yet, but they had a soft opening over Labour Day weekend to meet people in their new neighbourhood, and the new space should be fully functional within several weeks. Look out, Kristapsons! Your east-end monopoly is in jeopardy! These guys make it fresh, using never-frozen, sashimi-grade salmon, and hand-slice it, fresh to order. The fish is smooth and melts in your mouth. The smoke flavor is immediate, but not overpowering and really brings out the natural favor of the salmon — you’ll still be able to taste it over your bagel. The service is very friendly and personable — if you call ahead, they may be able to open the store for you at off-hours(weekdays). The owner Anne said that they’re considering the idea of selling fresh fish on Thursdays, like their uncooked, sashimi-grade salmon, trout and possibly even oysters! In a neighbourhood that really needs some better quality shopping options, Valentino’s is a welcome arrival. Hopefully it’ll start a trend!
