Wellesley Subway Station

Located in the heart of the Church & Wellesley Village, this station on the Yonge-​Bloor line is located midway in between Yonge and Church Streets. Numerous area buses use this station as a terminus, and the passage of time clearly reflects the use of this station as it is mostly outdated and seriously requires a emergency makeover. With a convenience kiosk located by the turnstiles, the station really doesn’t make a blip design wise or even artistically when compared to other stations such as College and Museum, where artwork really makes them notable (and attractive) stops among the city’s numerous subway stations.

Practical, spartan station…
Upstairs one can get the 94 Wellesley bus to either Ossington station via Wellesley and Harbord or East to Parliament.
Downstairs is the Yonge line. It’s not heated and pretty cold down here. Spartan and nothing much to write home about.
Tips:
–If transferring to the Bloor line, go to the far North end of the platform, opposite from the stairs.
–If you’re going to Queen stay right where you are by the stairs.
–There’s a Gateway Newsstand upstairs for your convenience needs. It’s opening hours are a bit unpredictable. It’s *usually* open at commute hours; *usually* not at other times. Don’t plan on it.
–No Presto here… tokens and monthly passes only.
–You can’t buy a monthly pass except with cash at the booth.

Debit machine is for metropasses only. Not to buy tokens. Argh!

Sometimes I get off at this station and walk to Bloor just for a slight bit of exercise. What can I say about this station… umm. it’s a circle. Connects you to a few buses and the Yonge-​University-​Spadina line. Not even a convenience store in this station. Also, be careful where you walk, or else you might get fined (at least according to the sign) up to $ 500. Yes, seriously!!!
Good if you live/​work in the area and you can avoid the crowd at Bloor though, but no PRESTO here either. ugh. :-S
