The espresso here is like a refine, aged dark chocolate. Remind me of what I had in Lyon. Such an awesome experience! Can’t wait to go back again!

I love the idea of this store; an independent local grocer carrying fresh produce and meat as well as grocery staples. I also expect to pay a little more here, but some of the pricing is just plain prohibitive, I paid $ 4.99 for a box of pasta that I later paid $ 1.99 for the exact same product at a major retail chain. Paying $ 6(+ tax) for an Americano with 2 shots of espresso is a bit ludicrous too — where am I Beverly Hills or Marlee Ave. Most of the staff are very nice there but a few come with«attitude» and a couple of poor customer service experiences(ie. rude staff) and prices more suitable for Pusateri’s in Yorkville means I have made my last stop here. It’s a shame, since it is a nice little local marketplace.

I was in the area for work and had a solid 45 minutes to kill. It happened to be lunch time so I went into Zito’s to check it out. I was also intrigued with this place as I often drive right by it. There’s a parking lot on site, which is convenient for the drivers. As for my friends who ride the Rocket, it’s pretty accessible by bus or subway. It’s a family run grocery store with a lot of Italian goods — there’s also a hot table with delicious Italian dishes. I had the Eggplant Parmigiana, which was hearty and delicious. I also added rapini to my lunch, full of garlic, I really liked it. Zito’s makes party trays and they cater so will definitely check out these options the next time that I’m hosting a party. Good for: groceries, ready to eat hot meals

I love love love this place! Tucked away on Marlee Ave. Zito’s is the go to place for both fresh Italian groceries and a delicious hot table! Everyday is something different — from lamb to creamy pasta’s, half the fun of this place is seeing what they’ve cooked up at the hot table! They always load up the plate, just like Nonna’s! They also have a butcher’s counter in the back, a deli counter next to the hot table and an impressive selection of fresh produce. The aisles are always stocked with tons of pasta’s and other Italian grocery items, the place is kept extremely clean and the large seating area in the back makes it my go to place for lunch in the area! You can leave without trying their espresso either! Great people and incredible food is the best way to sum Zito’s Marketplace up!
