A lovely restaurant in Tusket offering a fine dining experience without the pretence of some others in larger centres. The owner has managed to obtain the services of Chef Amy Scott-Nickerson, who is quite probably the most talented young Chef in all of SW Nova Scotia. Local and Fresh is the mantra here. Staff are very welcoming and professional, but do not hover around like some places. The food is very well prepared, plating is excellent and portions are quite large. You may have some dinner choices in the area, but Hatfield House is far and above anything else available. I can offer my highest recommendation of this fine establishment.

Rarely does one find a five star restaurant with 5 star ambiance in such a rural setting. The Hatfield house is a jewel. Recently redone with style and taste, this restaurant is an eclectic mix of classic Nova Scotia fare with a gormet twist. High end dining with a family feel. If you’re in the Province, a meal here is a must.(Didn’t Experience any Mosquitos…)

Visiting Yarmouth and fortunate to discover this restaurant on Unilocal. We thoroughly enjoyed the Digby broiled scallops, lobster linguini and whole boiled lobster. All cooked to perfection, would not have changed a thing. The staff were friendly and attentive. Lovely historic home transferred into an indoor and outdoor restaurant. Only ONE complaint, due to their location, there are numerous mosquitoes. The outdoor seating areas are screened-in, however the mosquitoes are persistent. Really could use some type of insect control system or at least citronella candles on the porches.
