The store sits on a pretty convenient intersection and has tons of parking which is nice. It feels spacious and airy inside, and everything is very well cleaned up and organized. They had an impressive natural food section, carrying a few items that I haven’t seen elsewhere… same goes for international foods. I like the layout of the pharmacy with the consultation counter facing you right as you walk through the sliding glass doors at the entrance. Other than that there isn’t anything thats glaringly different from what you’d find at any other Atlantic Superstore in the HRM. All that being said, I recently did some research to try and evaluate which credit card would be the best for me to get when it comes to both accruing points for travel and also for insurance. So I got an American Express card which I now use almost exclusively. Well Superstore does not accept AMEX. which is silly because pretty much every other major grocery chain I know accepts it, even Costco(which doesn’t even accept Mastercard or VISA). so theres no good excuse for that oversight. Soo, I think its unlikely I will be doing much business with Superstore in the future.

It’s a grocery store, it does what a grocery store does best. Sells me groceries. Now then… this store does that quite well. They just finished a complete renovation, which while they were in the process it kind of sucked but now it’s great. The layout, the selection, the signage, just works and flows better, at least for the way I shop. The Deli is always clean and well organized, the meat shop always has staff ready to help, and the cashiers are more often then not, in a good mood and will offer a smile. They carry a way better selection of fruits and Vegetables then it’s counterpart Sobeys in Tantallon. Plus with a PC MasterCard, i get free groceries every so often. They win the chance to see me once a week, sometimes more, but then again so does Sobeys. I am one who shops from flyer’s.
