First visit last weekend. Got good friendly and prompt service, and good food for a reasonable price. We will be back and intend to bring friends!

They offer pretty standard pub food nothing unique, but it is well executed and there’s no complaints.

It’s true that if you live in the area, there really isn’t a lot to choose from if you don’t want to drive to Bayer’s Lake or downtown Halifax. Unfortunately, because of that I think, this place is mediocre. The food is ok, but it’s priced like a fine-dining restaurant, which this place is not. I have to agree that out of the perhaps 8 times I’ve eaten here, I can only think of one waitress who was actually quite nice and provided good and friendly service. The rest are mostly grumpy. As for the replies by the owner, I find them defensive and somewhat petty. A little humility would do you good. I would love to see more restaurants in the area, then you might realise that what so many of us are saying has some truth to it.

Lefty’s seems to have cornered the market for casual tavern dining at through 103 exit 5. Seizing on this opportunity for greatness they have taken the obvious path. High prices, small quantities, mid quality ingredients and mediocre presentation. Combined with service that leaves one bewildered, Lefty’s sets the standard for crapiness that leaves nothing to chance. If you recently got fired, buy your ex-boss a $ 20 gift certificate. It won’t cover nachos and a beer. Revenge is sweet and Lefty’s is the place to serve it cold. Like their food.

I love Lefty’s. There is no place in Halifax like it. My husband and I drive well out of our way whenever we can to eat there when we feel like just good diner/pub food. There are NO good pubs in Halifax; we’ve tried quite a few over the years and are always disappointed. Lefty’s is clean, friendly staff, varied menu, and you get good food for the price. It’s not pretentious, it doesn’t try to pass itself off as some fancy-pants restaurant(like many pubs in Halifax), it’s just a nice place to get a tasty burger and great fries. Their desserts need a bit of work(Sysco-type cakes and pies, whipped«topping» out of a can rather than homemade whipped cream), but otherwise we love it. Good selection of cocktails too. I wish they would open one in the city.
