The food is always very good here, and the service is top notch! Typical British pub fare, and the best curry for many miles! My favourite pub in town. Open Mic nights are fun as well! Considering Laiyee gave this place a worse review than Haugen’s(which I consider bottom-of-the-barrel almost), I would suggest she give them both another try and see if her opinion changes.

service was great, very friendly but food were not very good, roasted beef that was on special was tough, dry and not fresh, seems like it’s been cooked, sliced then frozen or refrigerated for a few days and then reheated, gravy taste like those from a can, bun was burned, fries were cold and over done. Another disappointed experience in Uxbridge.

We we there reluctantly because the space was previously occupied by what appeared to be a restaurant from a different planet. This time we were surprised that the service was excellent and the food was very good. I’m glad we gave them another chance and we will definitely return to confirm it was not a fluke.

I’ve been here a couple times now and I always leave feeling great. The food is pretty good(I’ve been getting the fish and chips — huge portion!), the service is friendly and the atmosphere is laid back. They have Open Mike nights which are pretty cool too. Would definitely recommend for a casual, fun night out.

Not only is the food here great, and the service incredibly friendly and attentive, but they have INNIS&GUNN on tap! When the server asked if I wanted a beer and started listing off what they had on tap, I stopped him and said«Wait. did you say you have Innis & Gunn on TAP? AND Rolling Rock??» He smiled and said that they were the only ones to have that on tap in all over Uxbridge, Port Perry, Whitby… I stopped him there and told him I’m a beer & pub maniac from TORONTO and I’ve never seen it on tap anywhere. Way ahead of the curve. And love me some Rolling Rock, especially on tap, as well. Anyway, they obviously care about what they’re doing, they’re having a blast doing it judging from their big smiles, and I wish them all the success they can get in ye old Uxbridge.

Super friendly, amazing service, wonderful, honest food and a huge menu. We drifted across this place over 6 years ago when we were looking for a house in the area. This experience was real estate related as well, as we had an open house for 3 hours and had to kill time. We Googled the area and Uxbridge was the perfect distance. The staff are amazing. Very friendly and happy without it seeming forced. They seem genuinely interested in making your experience with them as enjoyable as possible. The menu is almost overwhelming. A vast array of food running from Indian(lamb curry) to traditional pub fare(sticky toffee pudding) that requires, in my opinion, an appetizer to start just to give you ample time to absorb the whole thing. We were not rushed in any way however. I started wit the garlic and cheese shrimp, done up like escargot, which were perfectly cooked and dressed in olive oil and shredded cheese. It doesn’t have to be complicated to be great, especially when you are talking comforting pub style food. My lunch companions each went different ways. One with a loaded burger(stacked to the roof with fresh veg on a made in house all beef patty) and the other curry chicken. Both were very happy with the portion size, and the AMAZING popadums that came with the curry(as I was about to experience) My lamb came out later as the process takes longer to get right when you ask for extra spicy as I did. A generous portion, with lots of Basmati rice, and a dopple of yoghurt and fresh lettuce to help cut the heat when needed, and those wonderful plate size popadum. Washed down with a pint or two of Innis & Gunn and it was wonderful lunch that carried us back home. Washrooms were clean, and the entire place, while small, was cozy and comfortable, with some entertaining regulars at the bar to keep the smiles going. I won’t be waiting 5 years to come back.
