This business is now CLOSED! It’s been replaced by another café which was terrible and dreadful service. You’d be wise to avoid this place. Try Bica just off the island instead.

I came here ’cause the shop that I was supposed to go to on Granville Island closed 20 minutes early(see review on that). I came here for a hot drink and a small appie before heading home. I got some chips and salsa for $ 5. Chips were okay, however, the«salsa» was just crushed tomatoes with no other veggies or spices = completely plain. So in other words I had unseasoned chips with crushed tomatoes for $ 5? Service was good. There was tons of space, enough for me to hang out and do my art piece for a few hours. Great atmosphere with some art on the walls.

I miss their hummus quinoa wrap — instead of swapping the wrap for the new curry wrap it would have been ideal to have both vegan options. There are a ton of vegan students on the island — having only one vegan sandwich option is a bummer.

Great latte taste and almond chocolate biscotti. Seat by the window drafty. Most of staff unsmiling in two visits. Ambiance great lighting, original art, interesting and folksy music good volume. Tables for working — some larger for groups. I’ll come back — with my own smile and a sweater.

Was only here for a latte, if I was to only review them based on the latte, I would give 6 stars, however the cashier and seemingly many of the other staff she asked had no idea about their promos. My gf presented a 25% coupon that you get when you check in with Unilocal(she got it, however I didn’t when I checked in, she has an Iphone, I have a oneplus). The cashier never heard of any promo, she asked one of the kitchen staff, and another lady, both did not know about the promo, she opt’d to honor the promo for us however didn’t seem like she was very happy about it. Anyways, enough about that, I ordered a soy milk latte, was probably the best one I’ve had in a long time, first in recent memory where I can taste the espresso, perfect balance between the flavor of the espresso and the soy milk, whereas many places I find the soy milk drowns out the espresso and I can’t taste any«coffee». I’m not a connoisseur, however do drink my coffee and hope to enjoy the flavor rather than just taking in caffeine, so I give 2 thumbs up to Agro for their lattes!

I’ve been here before at night and it has a nice chilled out atmosphere. Sadly as a day time coffee shop it could improve greatly. The service is so-so. On my most recent visit they forgot my girlfriend’s order entirely and insisted no such order had been made(and paid for). They also have a really annoying habit of taking names for orders but not calling the name, generally causing mass confusion amongst the waiting ranks of guests. But I hate giving bad reviews on service alone. So onto the food; avoid the sandwiches at all cost. All are over-grilled and strangely bland and flavour void. I’m not sure how you make a turkey, cranberry, and brie sandwich bland(over grill it? Grill it, grill the taste out of that Brie).

This is a great place to hang out for a couple hours over coffee, as well as have a quick meal. Their kitchen has a wider variety of lunch foods than your typical café. I became a fan of their grilled cheese and fries plate, and their full breakfast plates weren’t too bad either. In any case, the coffee is great and it’s a great coffee hangout in general. Worth stopping in here during a morning or afternoon visit to Granville Island. EDIT: I notice several people had issues with the service. Yeah, I visited here a few times and I do notice that the service is sometimes not so hot, maybe even a bit rude. So bear that in mind. I will note that, being from Seattle, I’m used to varieties of barista rudeness, so it didn’t bother me so much.

I had been to this coffee shop once before during a tasting event at Granville Island, called the palate promenade. That particular time I was greeted by the very personable owner and had a delicious latte. The next time I was at Granville Island I decided to stop by and asked if they could make a couple of caramel macchiatos. The cashier with purple hair gave me a look of disgust and told me with attitude that a caramel macchiato was a starbucks drink and then asked the barista if they would make one. The staff then proceeded to give me a lesson on specialty drinks, and told me again with attitude, that all a caramel macchiato is. blah blah blah. After dealing with the pretentious staff I was served the couple drinks, which I would have expected to be amazing since the staff were so knowledgeable; but no, not the case. A few sips later we tossed the 9 $ worth of drinks and walked over to Starbucks for a more pleasant experience. Next time I will be sure to spare Agro café from my ridiculous drink requests and head straight to Starbucks.

Debit machine expects tip, but boy I wouldn’t have tipped the tragic service I got here. It’s a beautiful day outside, so I indicates I’d be outside. They offered to bring out the drink and food when prepared. Nope, drink took 5min to prepare, then just left it after a call-out. I’m outside, so no way to hear the call-out. I go in after 10min of poking at the datesquare(yummy) and got my Italian soda. Sandwich wasn’t ready yet. So the guy said he’d bring it outside, waited outside another 10min. went in. Oh nope just sitting there again. Come on guys! Something is wrong when it’s sitting with nobody coming for it. Good food, friendly staff, but incompetent service and a debit machine that takes tip before it’s earned.

Awful service. Unwilling to fix an item we ordered– just told«us to take off what you don’t want». Food was not great either. Don’t waste your time or money.
