great pit stop if you’re heading to Tim Horton’s next door, as parking right at the front can be tough and tight, but in the back, there’s more room. A smaller store, enough for the hood. Remy Martin’s VSOP on the shelf for $ 89.99, and the good stuff, XO, behind the customer service counter on the left ;) Closed kinda early on Saturdays, 9pm.

Some nice beer choices the other locations don’t carry.

This location of BC Liquor Store is one of the smaller ones, but it does have everything I need(which is usually ghetto-drinks). The staff are friendly and always helpful. Parking is a war zone on the weekends(some 20 spots available, and you’re fighting with Tim Hortons’ customers), so it’s best to go here on weekdays. On many days, you may be able to score a free sample or two of some random wine you probably haven’t heard of before. Which is not a bad thing. You get slightly toasted, they sell an extra bottle or two. Everybody wins. They don’t always enforce the 24 container limit for returns, but I’ve been stopped once. Not sure why they have this stupid rule in place, as I tend to consolidate my empties until I reach critical mass.

Oh, memories. I admit, I still make a special trip to this neighbourhood when I’m in the mood for a liquor store without someone asking me for change. Although, all of the cars in this very small parking lot getting their Tim Hortons can get a bit of an annoyance too! Inside the store they’ve spiffed it up quite a bit and carry a pretty wide selection for a small location. This is where I first discovered tetra pack wines(From Oz and Italy), Red Bicycle from France and BC’s Rigamarole(I went through a phase where the only new wines I tried had to have cool labels). They may also have had(at one point) the Chilean wine I have raved about for under $ 10.

So. on my apparent quest to tour every liquor store in the lower mainland. I happened upon this location today… it alright. nothing to write home about… it was bit on the older side and selection was not as great as some other around the city ie Cambie &41st… but still had pretty much all the basics you would need to stock up for the weekend. of week day for that matter… the guy at the counter was a bit rude but I did interrupt him from stocking shelves…
